When you are killed with teh Lava buff on you it stays on and wont cleanse until you port out to LA making it impossible to restart from checkpoints.

Had the same thing happen to myself and a party member. The debuff keeps ticking on you even while dead. My guildie and I were unable to loot the chest afterwards because of this. We had to exit out to Lion’s Arch. Even returning to the lab did not remove the debuff.

I am experiencing the same thing. Two teammates died, one in lava around island, the other on the actual terrain with the lava shaman but with the tips of her feet sticking into one of those small pools that fills and drains, and when we respawned, she had 2 stacks of 59 minute lava on her and everytime she respawns, she’s on fire and dies. Another guildmate is unable to respawn and is just lying dead in the lava.
