1. Walk straight, holding W
2. Blink forward without releasing W

Result:
Character animation frozen-standing (location continues to advance)
Only jumping / strafing returns animation

I’d like to add this blink-related bug:
1) face boss
2) blink anywhere
3) notice how you are now facing the direction you blinked from, which is away from the boss 95% of the time

I always had a feeling blink turns me 180 degrees from where ever I need, unless I keep right click pressed.

Thank you for describing this properly, I guess we’ll see a fix in …………………………………. yeah.

if anything, I would expect to face you in the direction you blinked to. but a true fix to this bug would be to have it not adjust the camera at all (you keep facing the same fixed direction)
fun fact: a similar bug is true of mirror images as well (when you use it, your camera swings around to face the direction your character was facing – especially disruptive when you are breaking fear)

I think that they have known about this one for a long time. Ever since I’ve had the ability blink it does this, and it is common knowledge by everyone in game who has played a mes that this happens. It is just probably a low priority bug for them.

Besides it actually kind of looks cool when you float forward without moving your feet. Reminds me of the mursatt in Guild Wars 1.

Through some combo of died / wp / still in combat / weapon swap / temporal curtain / blink, I was able to hold a pose like this while running around:
feet still moved, torso/arm/head didn’t
it started out with 1H sword raised, but stayed after I switched to greatsword (still held with 1 hand). After a min or so, finally went out of combat and the sword was sheathed.
