There appears to be a bug in the beginning part of the Elder Druid Protection story step where you must get a crystal key for M.O.X. The bug makes it so that none of the spiders when killed drop the key. It is solved when you log out and log in again but it should be addressed anyway
Hmm. I didn’t have an issue getting the key. It didn’t drop from the little webbies, but did drop from a regular spider, in my case. No logging out and back in, though.
It may be just RNG in your (and everyone’s) case.
