Human Female rifle animations are heavily bugged for a while now. 3 years, to be more or less exact!
If it is so desired, I can add video evidence to this thread. But this has kinda been really really really annoying me for three years now, to the point of always trying to sheathe my weapon even when combat has been over for a second tops so I don’t see my backpack freak out.
Can this get fixed at some point? I know HoT is a big importance right now, but there’s -always- something being made of big importance, and even the Mortar kit recently saw an animation change. I’d love to see that at least the animation guys get pitched that this is an issue, that’s really all I’m asking.

Confirmed that the human female rifle animations are snapping instead of being smoothed.
Can also confirm that the same snapping happens on norn female rifle animations – just in a different manner. When the norn female lands after a jump with the rifle drawn, they are leant forward. A moment later, the animation snaps to rig their whole body to be stood upright again, which is the animation for their run. There is no animation smoothing.
Can also…suggest that the problem exists on sylvari male rifle too, though it’s far less noticeable. Under the same circumstances above, landing after a jump, the rifle is held more or less in the same direction as it is when the sylvari male is running, but not quite. A moment later the model seems to snap, just barely, to realign the rifle and body to the right very very slightly. There may be animation smoothing involved, and it can’t really be seen from behind, but it doesn’t feel quite smooth enough.
The sylvari male rifle issue is far less prominent than human female rifle or norn female rifle, but I figured I’d test it on the characters that I could.
So, generally, with other races having this issue on rifle, it might be that there’s a general animation setting to let it move back to your idle stance without snapping missing. The backpiece and jumping issues either way are very painful to look at.
