Crashing mid world boss isn’t fun at all.

This happens roughly 3/5 times I go to do a world boss. It happens the most on Tequatl and Vinewrath where I’m on a map for a lengthy period of time preparing for the boss to happen. Most crashes happen in the beginning half of the event and character model limits are set to low. It’s not something that only happens on my Mac, either. On Windows this is also an issue, even when character model limit is set to the lowest. The crashing is more common on the Mac client than the Windows client.

I’m currently running on a mid-high end iMac that can run the game on high settings no problem. Tabbing out can sometimes cause the game to no longer accept input from the mouse, giving me no choice but to reload the game.

Moving and dragging the map can sometimes be either unresponsive or incredibly sluggish. Sometimes button mashing works, sometimes it doesn’t. Though the amount of frustration it can cause is very real.

And on the list of buggy map view issues, sometimes it’ll do this:

You might try changing your graphics presets to best performance. This is by no means a suggestion that your graphics card is subpar, but there is a long running bug (~2013) in the mac client graphics for which the best performance preset seems to be a functional work around. If that does stop at lease the first error, you could try adding back in graphics features one at a time until you start crashing again. From my own testing I can run a single setting on high with everything else where the “best performance” set them. When I start digging into 2 optimal settings I start having problems again. It is tragically bleh in appearance but at least it mostly functions. Good luck.
