Bugs with Necro Shroud
Can you post a screenshot of your equipped weapons?
There is a bug that affects all characters while transformed (including, e.g. shroud). If you use the money-saving option of main-hand/off-hand in Set A and [empty]/off-hand in Set B, your character won’t gain the benefits of the main-hand weapon while transformed.
For a more detailed explanation with screenshots, see this reddit post
(This has also been reported elsewhere, including: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Shroud-CA-ignore-stats-on-main-hand-weapon/6278747 .)
For a variety of reasons, I don’t expect this to be solved soon, so I’ve been using an extra main-hand weapon to avoid the problem. Alternatively, using a two-handed weapon in either set will bypass the issue.
The setup tested was Axe/Focus and Staff. I’m not at home so I can’t post a screenshot until later.
The same setup (and actual weapons) was used to test Sigil of Leeching and the damage done by Sigil of Leeching was done after entering shroud (and shows up in the battle log). The life-steal didn’t work (which was disappointing to me), but the damage did.
So in this case the sigil of leeching activated properly upon entering shroud, but sigil of agility did not. No swiftness or quickness was obtained upon entering or exiting shroud.
Axe+Focus & Staff should not be affected by the bug mentioned, so we can rule that out.
Presumably you’ve ensured that you’re in combat when entering/exiting shroud and your current set includes agility. In your shoes, I’d also try another on-swap sigil to double check if the issue is shroud or the sigil itself.
PS be sure to use in the in-game /bug reporting tool — that makes the content of the combat log available to ANet, which will make it easier for them to troubleshoot.

Yes, I mostly tested them flipping camps in wvw. Plenty of angry enemies trying to eat me.

I did not know that, I will be sure to redo the test on everyone’s favorite golem when I get home. I’ve never seen a boon appear on the combat log, which is at the center of this bug, but I’ll give it a shot.

Boons don’t appear in our log, but they will appear in ANet’s logs — and using /bug gives them a chance to track it down more quickly.
- If we merely mention the issue, someone has to take time to set up the situation and duplicate what they think we did.
- If we use /bug instead, then they can see what actually occurred, putting them several steps ahead in troubleshooting the issue.
PS it’s also ok to use the in-game command 5-10 minutes after (when it’s safer to type the notes) — either give the exact time using the combat log or plenty of clues so they don’t have to scroll back through 5,000 lines of log to find what you meant.
I’m 99% sure the test golem is just fine for something like this, but… it’s a test golem and so it’s possible there might be some differences from PvE or PvP or WvW combat.
