Is this working as intended?

You can’t equip 2 Red Ring of Death or 2 of any specific ascended rings.

What you CAN do is equip 1 Red Ring of Death and 1 Red Ring of Death(infused)…..

Theres something wrong here. Why are these rings set as “unique” so that we can’t use duplicates??

Is it so we must have 1 defensive and 1 offensive version of the stats?

EDIT: Let me clarify. You can wear duplicate rings, I just don’t understand the reasoning behind having to sacrifice 5 agony resistance to be able to wear duplicates.
(IE 1 Red Ring of Death, 1 Red Ring of Death(infused))

they are both unique items..only one per character of a type..ie only one red ring of death. You cant completely optimize.

Yes i realize that but you mean to tell me it is intended that if you want to wear duplicate rings, you’ll have to sacrifice 5agony resistance? (ie 1 Red Ring of Death, and 1 Red Ring of Death(infused))

If thats the case, it doesn’t make much sense that the game doesn’t want you to completely optimize just for agony fights……

i have reported this bug just now that’s happened me too.was using 2 same rings,1 infused,the other not.spent 250 glob of ecto to upgrade it and now i can’t equip it,this has no sense,have to be a bug.

I would’t classify it as a bug. The items do say unique. Unique items, by design, are an “only 1 equipped at a time” item.

Yeah it’s unique and it’s not a bug.
There are two differently named rings with same stats, so you don’t need to sacrifice any stats or AR.
For example:
Red Ring of Death and Vine of the Pale Tree both have identical stats.

Infused versions are a bit different though.
