Guild Wars 2

I recently created a new character, a human elementalist. I started playing and started discovering points of interest and helping others so I could level up. I later went and tried to begin my quest when I noticed I had no idea where to start. I checked the quest log or whatever it is called, and there is nothing there. I am looking everywhere for the green star and it is no where to be found. It has been about a year since I last played so I am quite rusty. (That’s why I decided to make a new character). So maybe I over looked something? Please help.

Everything is working as intended. You have encountered the “new player experience” which has somewhat re-organized and partitionned the story into 10lvl segments.
This means that your first act of the personal story will be unlocked when your character reaches level 10. After competing the first act you will encounter another “leveling phase” until you can continue with act 2.
