Guild Wars 2

I’m hoping someone could help me out. I’m having an issue and it’s preventing me from even accessing my main character. When I try loading up this character I end up getting stuck on the loading screen and when I wait to see what happens maybe five to ten minutes later i get the following error message: ‘the game client has lost connection to the server and to please wait a few minutes before restarting the game client and trying again’ .. Except now I’ve tried several times and I just can’t get past the loading screen, so now I can’t even play.

I didn’t post this in the tech support forum as I don’t think this has anything to do with my comp as it is new.. Also, I’ve tried logging into my other character and then logging back onto my problem character(in The Grove) and still it doesn’t load (my other character is fine and loads up everytime and she’s currently in Hoelbrak). I’ve also tried guesting in other worlds and that hasn’t worked either.

I’ve gotten used to the lag which is happening between 6 and 11 every night for the past 4-5 days which has made my game nearly unplayable but now with not being able to even load my character this has got me worried, and I’m unsure whether it’ll go away at 11 which seems to be when GW2’s lag seems to settle.. So I’d really appreciate some help in working this out.

I had the same problem. Luckily though it wasn’t on my main but another character I use quite often. I re-downloaded the dat.file, and did a client repair. It seems to have cleared it up but I still have problem when trying to do dungeons. I made a thread last week about it but got no reply. I’m pretty sure it not our end but Anets. The best advice I can give is to repair or failing that, delete and re-install. Otherwise don’t play the character for a few days.

Ok thanks for the reply. It’s just odd because my other character loads just fine while this one doesn’t even load when I guest on other worlds. Plus when I actually did get on last night ( I finally got online around 11 after peak time) I made sure to log her out in a quiet area so I definately agree with you sayin it’s probably Anets side..

I don’t mean to sound paranoid but it just seems as if they tag one character so you can’t connect very well and maybe give the decent connection to any new players that happen to be playing.

I just find it odd that I can log into one character perfectly fine anytime I want and with the second (main)character I can’t log on if it’s during peak time(5-11).
