Can't go in Queensdale
My elementalist is currently stuck in malchors leap. i guess it’s a server issue.
I’m having the same problem, and I’m in the same server. Other characters work, but I can’t access Queensdale.
I currently have 2 character there, a lvl 1 thief and a lvl 40 engineer, the thief is sent to the previous chapter ( Defense of Shaemoor ) and the engineer is sent to the previous location ( Divinity Reach ).
Plus, the engineer gets a message after doing a relog when i get stuck in queensdale, " The Waypoint you selected to has become contested and you have been redirected to the closest friendly point" … ???? i dont understand…
I’m having the exact same problem, doesn’t matter if I try running through the city portal into Queensdale or just travelling to a way-point. Either way it gets stuck and on re-log states that the way-point was contested. Quite annoying.
Oh and I’m also on Seafarer’s Rest EU

This is certainly not restricted to single servers as none of my Desolation chars are able to get into Metrica Province. Highly irritating as there’s no way to do the rounds on the fire ele let alone be in the zone. I’m having the exact same endless loading to ‘waypoint contested’ errors and the only workaround from the game crash is to reboot.
Hope it will be addressed soon as they can.
My wife’s account has the same issues on Desolation server. Tried to go to Metrica Province through portal gate from Asura’s Hometown and got stuck(with 2 characters). Everytime it loads her 2 characters, they freeze on a loading screen and it seems that they are stuck till A-net will do some changes accourding this issue…
As far as I see we(players in Desolation server) are not the only ones who have this problem after todays launcher’s newest update.
As least for me is not the fact that i can’t enter the area, it’s the char literally stuck on the loading screen even after a full reset so i’m stuck on my alts until it’s fixed. frustrating to say the least but i’m sure it’s known by now.
EDIT: As a quick fix and you’re really stuck, guest over to another server you know that zone is okay in and get them the hell back to LA til it’s resolved aha. i just managed it on Aurora Glade if that’s of use.

Yeah, I was hoping this would be something that would be solved by just waiting like how it normally is with the bug involving crucible of eternity (if the place uncontests at the same time you leave the dungeon, then your character gets stuck there and you can’t access him for a few hours) but it’s been a bit more then a few hours.
I can’t go queensdale and i have my main pg blocked, i’m in Seafarer server, i’m block at loading screen, we need a fast fix.
EDIT: still not work, if u can teleport to LA i can play.

Same problem here, I exited to desktop last night while still in super adventure box and got stuck on the loading screen to the same area about 10 minutes ago. Restarted GW2, back in Rata Sum and tried moving to Metrica and again stuck on loading screen. Now when I log that character on it flashes up the Rata loading screen then straight to the Metrica loading screen where it gets stuck again.
Edit: just tried a couple more times and got back in with near instant loading times. If it stays like this then well done Anet!

Rather than start new post thought should post here.
Got a character stuck in Metrica Province (Desolation EU server).
I’m a sad panda.
For those who got characters stuck, to fix your issue ( until a fix to the problem is given by Anet ) :
Go to character selection screen and guest on another server . Log on the blocked character and move him to some other area like the Mists or LA. Then logout again and go to your main server.
Bugged Areas:
1) SFR Queensdale
2) Desolation Metrica
It work, but i log in a Queens Dale map of another server, so not all Quees dale map are bugged
@Shay: It worked thank you very much for your help !!!
Stuck on Metrica’s loading screen (Desolation)
