Hello. I cannot join my friend in another instance. He is level 10 and has a free account while I have a paid account. I tried multiple things but nothing seems to work and I am starting to think that it is a bug. I added him to my friend’s list, we made sure that the instances were not full and we couldn’t even join the same hotm map. Does anyone know if there is something to be done or should he just file a ticket for support?

Are you both playing from the same region (NA or EU)?

We are both EU since we could join the party but we couldn’t join the same instance.

In the past, EU and NA players could still join each other’s party despite not being able to play with each other. I don’t know if this was ever changed, but are you SURE you’re both EU? Being able to join each other’s parties isn’t definitive.

I’d have him check again to make sure he’s actually on EU. I’m not trying to insult his (or your) intelligence, but most of the time that ends up being the reason why people can’t join eachother’s maps or instances. If it turns out you are both on the same region for sure, then I’d contact support to see what they suggest.

Where did you try to join his instance? Not in Salma district by any chanse? You cannot switch maps in instanced areas. Try to join on some normal public map like any outdoor zone or in Divinity’s Reach anywhere tha is not Salma

Also you cannot join anyone in Hotm.

Scratch that, I was thinking Hall of Monuments for some reason.

Anyway. Check the limitations of f2p accounts.

It was not on Salma , we tried multiple map like DR and Hoelbrak, wayfarer’s and hotm. If you are in different instances you can join each other as long as you are both in hotm.

Best tip would be to list each of your Home Worlds here, so others may benefit from your experience.
