Can't use TP unless I start game with -repair
Do you have your game set to be Run As Administrator?
- Ensure your game is set to Run As Administrator in the shortcut’s Properties > Compatibility tab.
In addition to ‘Running As Administrator’ helping with many issues other than just the TP, most TP-specific issues are primarily related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
The quickest way to clear the GW2 Cache is to:
- Ensure your game is completely closed.
- Hold your “Windows Key” and press “F” to open Windows Search on your computer.
- Search for “gw2cache”
- It will find a folder called “gw2cache-{bunch-of-letters-and-numbers}” at:
“C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Local\Temp” - Delete this “gw2cache-{bunch-of-letters-and-numbers}” folder that is shown in the results.
- Load up your game normally and your TP should function properly once again without having to constantly run the repair on it.

Wonder if this is related to my invalid authorization TP error?
I was using admin on the shortcut. Also I found and deleted the folder on my d:\temp folder. After doing that it did not fix the problem.
I did play around with my command line arguments and found that the cause was the usage of -nopatchui. I was told to use that argument in order to have the Mumble overlay work. I did test both with and without the argument and indeed it does not work unless you use that command.
With the command I cannot use the TP but I can see mumble users on my screen. Without the command I can use TP but cannot see my guild mates.
My issue was solved by StinVecs response, thanks bro!!
Any chance that -nopatchui can be updated to refresh the “gw2cache” and allow TP usage?
