Guild Wars 2

I’m pretty new to guild wars and i build myself a human ranger. when i played the tutorial i could use healing spell (“We heal as one”) but now for some reason its grayed out (see the picture).

Someone knows how to fix that?

Its not a bug, you need to select your healing skill.
You can do so in the hero’s panel, training or build tab. you can unlock or select your healskill there.

I can see the skill in the Build menu, but how can i sellect it?
I can’t drag it and nothing i do seems to work.

When you are out of combat, there should be a little arrow above your skill slot that you can click which will bring up a window with choices for skills. You can then just click the skill of your choice.

If you seem ‘stuck’ in combat at all times, you may need to -repair the client (in case of corrupted file[s]). You can find instructions via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search (Repair)’.

Still don’t work, whenever i’m in combat or not.
I think its a bug.

You might try just waypointing or entering a city first, or completely logging out and back in, before a -repair. Could save some time.

If, after -repairing, you still have issue, you can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link and ‘Submit a Request’ for assistance.

It is probably related to the fact that skill got updated a few times in the past few days and newly created characters are trying to use the old skill that isn’t in the game any more. The only think I can think of is to try when you reach to level 11(bummer deal I know) and earn some hero points and unlock a different healing ability and it should unlock the ability for you to swap your healing skill. You should see little arrows above skills 5-0(once you start unlocking them) that you can use to swap the skill to another one. I tried to exit the game and logging back in but it didn’t solve the issue.
How do i -repair the game?

EDIT: Never mind. I found how to do it. Trying to repair it now.

Edit the game shortcut.

Right click it
Click Properties
Go to the Shortcut tab
In the Target field and -repair to the end of the line

I will look something like this
“…\Gw2.exe” -repair

Be sure to put -repair outside the quotes, with a single space before it

This has to be some sort of bug, as it should be impossible to not have a heal skill selected. You start with 2 unlocked and shouldn’t be able to de-select one, just swap between them.

Ok, i’ve done the repair but the issue is still on

This is not a remote problem, before the new build I had a healing skill, after the update I had the same issue and couldn’t fix it. Checking with chat I wasn’t the only one with the issue.

Human Ranger around level 8 now.

A friend had the same thing happen this morning, but she was able to select a heal skill when out of combat. She had just logged in to not having one equipped, despite playing the character yesterday (still before last night’s patch) with no issues. As with the OP, her character was a ranger. She also mentioned her selection of heal skills having a “blank” skill in the list.

I’ve not had this happen on my ranger, which I was playing before and after last night’s update. I also created a new human ranger this morning to attempt recreate the issue, with no luck.

I had this issue as well today on my farming ranger. Got it to level 11 (it wasn’t far off, so ran around a city map for the extra XP) and the skill became available again.

(EDIT! So I suggest trying to level it as well - just to 6, in a city. Just enough of it to level, and see if it fixes it just through the level up process, and if not, send a message to Support for assistance).

It’s happened to me as well on my Norn Ranger. Weird bug it seems.

im levl 10 right now and can confirm, no heal skill on my ranger (heal as one can not be equpiped). Guess ill sit out that one level and equip at level 11. But its absolutely a bug.

Aww, ArenaNet’s hate for the ranger class is so real right now. Broken or no pets in PVP, healing skills that can’t be equipped, forcing rangers to only play druid in HoT later on since nobody will want them in their dungeon/raid group…
Then the 4 pages long bug-filled document ALL about rangers, the fact that you can’t name more than 3 pets and finally, the absolutely broken “Howler” – ah good weapon for rangers if you want to be more than just another “Bearbow” …

Hell, Ranger was never my main class, but this whole story becomes ridiculously annoying. The longer I don’t log in the game, the more I realize “meh, it wasn’t that good”

Use tombs of knowledge if you have any. You should get enough Hero Points to equip at least one healing skill after that. Hope that helps!

Adding my voice, also on my norn ranger.

Same thing is happening to me on my Norn Ranger.

Same thing on human ranger.

Same with my 10th level Asuran Ranger. Even tried accessing it on other devices, both PC and Mac.
