Cannot access Asura gate at Vigil Keep
Further to the above the mission “marker” didn’t move until I reached Mount Maelstrom; the map beside the target map. Quite a fair way to travel from Lion’s Arch by foot hoping that your goal was “thataway”
you have to complete to a certain point in the main story to be able to use the gate, and to go to gate. If not wrong, you have to complete the lvl70 quest
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
I am lvl 80 and I still cant access it. I have full map completion, and I’m on the last part of the class quest to go into Arah. Anyone figured out whats wrong with it?
Yes as Unknown said you need to complete your story
And by complete I mean 100% complete (so you receive the pact token) then the gate will open for you when you talk to the guards.
It may open at other parts of the story but i do not know when.

I’m having the same problem.
It’s part of my character’s Personal Story, the required level to continue said story is 39. However, I’m already at level 69, yet there still seems to be no way for me to access the Keep.
I guess, I’ll have to wait till I reach Fort Trinity directly which requires level 70., then take the Asura Gate from there. I still find it weird that it seems to take so long to continue with ones personal story, though, considering the minimum level to do so is almost half of what is needed to actually continue. :/

It will show you the quickest route from your current position, but it doesn’t know which gates are available to you. You can zoom out on the map and look for the green star that marks the actual story step location.
Guys – I think it’s as easy as that green star showing quickest way to get to where your personal story will carry on next – like Jeffrey says.
If you’re at Fort Trinity and beyond, then the personal story continues at Fort Trinity in Straits of Devastation.
But it’s only after a certain quest at Fort Trinity (lvl 70 or so personal story… “The Battle …”) that your Order’s short-cut Asura gate to Fort Trinity will become accessible to you.
Could call it a little visual bug on Anet’s part that they indicate that Asura gate as portal towards your personal story before that Asura gate is available to you… maybe they fix it at some point by checking what stage your personal story is at.

If they do fix it, it would be good to also check which order you joined. The marker doesn’t care and will point to the closest gate whether it is yours or not. For most people, this will mean their marker always leading from LA to the Vigil.
