Tried to salvage a stack of shards but no right click options except destroy or deposit. Tried by simply clicking on one but nothing happened. Tried with three alts (who have been in Lake Doric) but no luck. Exited game and tried again – nothing. Am I missing something here; do they not work like similar mats? Nothing showing on the bug tracker so maybe it’s just me?
I believe you need to use a Salvage Kit. It salvaged into Unbound Magic for me with a Salvage Kit.

One at a time only is a tedious and relatively expensive way to do it though. I’m not sure Anet intended this
I think Blood Rubies and Petrified Wood are the same. At least, they are listed in the Wiki as such.
