Cannot slot agony infusion on ascended gloves
Agony Infusions can only be put into agony slots. Agony slots are only available on infused rings and back items.
Versatile infusions can go into unused(you could overwrite a used slot but that would be wasting infusions) defensive or offensive slot.
I’ve made 4 ascended items, transmuted with exotic skin and then added the versatile infusions without any problem so either there is some issue specific to those gloves or you’ve missed out on some detail.
AR infusion can go into any slot, there is no “agony” slot, this is definitely a bug.
hope you get it sorted as im starting to craft my ascended atm myself,

According to the wiki, there is an ‘Agony Infusion Slot’. As well, as the tool-tip stating this.
‘Infused equipment is an upgraded version of ascended equipment that has Agony Infusion slot in addition to the offensive, defensive, or utility infusion slot found on ordinary ascended equipment.’
But, maybe the wiki is out-of-date? I am not sure.
the infusion slot that is referring to is when you infuse the accessory (rings, backpiece etc), its a separate slot all together and you cant alter that, you cant infuse armor so that is irrelevant imo, ar can still go in any infusion slot

Oh, ok. I guess the tool-tip is misleading. Lol. I don’t really know much about Ascended Armor. Thanks for the info.

No someone is just being a pedant.
easiest way to explain this is with http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prototype_Fractal_Capacitor_
when you infuse it it becomes the http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Beta_Fractal_Capacitor_.
the beta one has the infusion slot the tool tip was referring to which you can only put in ar infusions (as well as a standard infusion slot), however the prototype while still being ascended only has a standard infusion slot of your choice, but will take AR infusions.

ANet’s nomenclature is very confusing. There are two types of slots and several types of AR upgrades:
Slots
- Ordinary infusion slot, found on any ascended item (trinkets have one, but weapons and armor have two each). They can hold these type of infusions
- defensive (basic or fine; however the wvw infusions have no AR)
- offensive infusions (basic or fine; however the wvw infusions have no AR)
- utility infusions (none of which have AR)
- omni infusions
- Agony Infusion slots, found only on infused ascended gear:
- Any ascended ring can be infused, but some ascended back items cannot be infused.
- These slots only hold Agony Infusions.
- These slots are in addition to the ordinary infusion slot above.

when I said there is no agony slot which you are quoting me on I was referring to the OP about armour which does not have an infused version therefore doesn’t have the choice to be upgraded to get the “agony slot”.
you have corrected me on one, AR cant go on utility slots but this also doesn’t change my original comment as utility are only for amulets.
