I changed my traits to try a new spec and went to change them back.

NPC doesn’t give an option to reset traits only by manuals.

Was there a timer set on respec’s?

Yes I already restarted client

Which trainer in which zone were you at that did not give you the reset traits option? Might just be a bug at that trainer as your class trainer should always offer a Reset Traits option.

As to why your class trainer would not offer it as an option (if it’s not a bug), I can only think that you do not have enough coin on your character to pay for one, so the option isn’t offered to you (similar to if you can’t afford to repair then the repair npc won’t offer you the repair option).

Check to make sure you have at least a couple silver on your character and try again.
Otherwise, right outside Divinity’s Reach and slightly down the hill from the entrance there is a Trait Reset NPC that only resets traits. Can head to him instead if you would like. There are also more Class Trainers there near the TP guys in Shaemoor Village a few steps from the Trait Reset NPC and you can try your class trainer down there instead of a class trainer in a city.

Have plenty of Gold no issue there.

Was the Mesmer trainer in Lions Arch, and the trainer WVW in Eb did same thing

The same issue with the ones in Shaemoor Village as well

Still cant retain my talents, over a day now and a restart didn’t clear it up either

I mentioned an alternate of where to go to retrain them since you seem to not have the option from your class trainer…

You need to have spent at least 1 trait point, it sounds like you reset your traits back to 0 already, so it won’t give that option again until you spend at least 1 point. It doesn’t check your gold, but it does check to see if you’ve spent at least 1 trait point before displaying that dialogue option. If you can, post a screenshot of your traits screen.

Thank you, Jeffrey, for clarifying what determines if that option is offered to a player as I wasn’t too sure on the coin aspect of determination. Glad to know you can’t accidentally pay for a trait reset that you do not need because your traits are already reset.
