There is a guard blocking entry to the war council POI, he knocks you back every time you try to enter.

its the last poi I need for that map, no way to get it as far as I can tell.

Why is this/

I’ve gotten that POI around 7 times now. I don’t recall running into any guard. That aside the new Living Story thing ALSO has a part that takes place there and there is definitely no guard there either.

…actually I’ve just ran over there now. My human warrior is currently dancing on the war council’s table.

Are you at the correct location? The War Council POI is inside The Command Core instance. While you are there make sure you grab the Iron Tribune Quarters POI as well.

yep I am at the correct locaiton.

I’ve got it previously on other characters, cant get it on this one. I assume its to do with living story, which is annoying as I have no intention of doing that on this one.

It seams a little bit absurd to lock a poi behind a living story gate like this.

edit: ok, thats weird, can get there on another character who also has not done living story…….no idea what the hell is going on here.

That guard shouldn’t be there as long as you’ve done that part on any character. Unless you activate the recap of course but I assume you aren’t doing that.

Not sure how far you have to go beyond watching the cutscene.

I havent done that part of Living Story yet… I will do that sometime but not now. It is great that this game offers so many things to do, but I dont have much time to play lately. So I ll do Living Story later. And I dont think it is a good move to block simple map completion (especially when it is a city) for people who havent chosen to do that one thing amongst so many other. Please unblock the POI. And I d like to have some feeback from Arena.Net since this thread is there 3 days with no official reply…

Now six days without a reply. I want to finish my map. It is stupid to block POI because of the World event. It is in city in non fighting are. Unblock it please. React somehow please.

So you are not getting an option to talk to the guard to let you pass?

Done further testing and it seems you get a different dialog depending on whether your toon is a pact commander (which happens later). Still, as long as you enter the Command Core and do not speak to the Iron Legion Engineer [Living Story Recap] your toon should be able to get to The War Council POI.

Nealce, another player (Toast, I think) posted that you can follow the walkway on the right all the way to the edge and get the POI. I’ve tested this and been successful and I was having the same issue you were.

if you are level 80 , after he knocks you down go back to him and press F he will dialog with you and apologise and let you thru . hope that helps

Thanks everyone. Now you cango there without being stopped by guards. Thank you all and thanks to Arena.Net for fixing this.

The actual solution to the thread starter’s problem was to complete the event he was in(talk to all the required people and watch the cutscene) AND leave.

Then RE-ENTER the instance. The second time you enter, the guard will not be there.
