hey,

cant update the game anyone have a idea what i can do?
on the pic you see its downloading with 0 kb/s and after a while it says error no connection

this happens to me alot recently. I just close it and reopen and eventually it goes but it is still annoying.

Can’t update here either it starts gets to 500 KB and freezes on the update. 0KB/sec for the last 20 minutes. This happened last patch too. What gives Anet?

Yea… I still can’t update with the exact same issue of the updater update timing out. It says it is going to retry the connection but it never does. In fact i can’t even quit the launcher cleanly, i have to end the task.

It seems like every patch ANet has put out lately has had these issues in one form or another. Are your update servers just over-taxed or what? Now that the monthly achievements are going to be decided by logging in each day, you need to have your updates run smoother. If ANet’s update fails cost me a monthly becuase i couldn’t update and login (i’m lookin’ at you February) I’m gonna be super upset.

Same problem here too. The fix didn’t work.

tried this and didn’t work. I am continuing to try to end task it and try again. Rather frustrating but thanks for trying.

20 minutes later the it finally finished the update. I just wished this didn’t happen every time there was an update.

Crazy…I’m in Chicago using comcast and I can’t update more than 3 kb/sec. Everything else on the internet works just fine, but I’ve been waiting on this patch for an hour.

Chicagoland area here…. comcast internet…. can’t update the game.

I am having the same issue as the last couple folks and got home from work about 2 hours ago. Finally got the main patch about 10 min before the next patch hit. I have never had a download issue before, ever. Did try the dns flush.

I too am on Comcast, but in the Detroit, Michigan area.

I am from the southwestern Michigan area and also cannot currently patch my game.

I’m in MN. Tried both the dns flush fix and the extra text with the shortcut, neither worked. Still cannot finish the update.

Having the same issue on Comcast in Kansas City. None of the fixes mentioned above helped.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that the launcher is using about 70-75% CPU on my Hyperthreaded quad-core i7. Something’s definitely not right with that.

Same issue here, also on Comcast in Chicagoland. DNS flush and adjusted shortcut didn’t work .

this is a little beyond my knowledge but I found a website that did a proxy trace to the ip 174.35.56.217(i found this ip in my performance manager that gw2.exe is trying to communicate). This might be helpful.

In MN and having the same issue since the first Wintersday patch as everyone else. Wasn’t doing this just yesterday since I updated the client on one of my other computers just last night and it worked fine. DNS flush doesn’t work for me either. :-(

Forgot to add: I am also on comcast and I’m getting the connection errors that others are experiencing, plus slow download speeds. The client will also refuse to close and I have to use task manager to prompt it to say it’s not responding so that I can force it to close. It appears to be taking up a lot of performance, also.

Ohio on Uverse. Entirely possible, and most likely my route hops through Chicago as it is a major hub, but not bothering with a tracert at this point.

I posted on the other thread about this already, but I’m in the MN area with Comcast and am experiencing the same thing.

I followed the steps to flush the DNS from the link provided, but it did not resolve the issue.

Yeah same here… I guess it’s not just me then… I too am using Comcast in the Chicago-land area… I’ve been stuck the screen in the attached pic for at least 20m now since the game booted me for the new build… Just when my friends/guild mates are starting to get home too…
