It seems, from my observations over the last week, that Captain Wiley spawns as an elite, not a champion, which makes him very killable for anyone who wanders in. I’ve only seen the first event spawn once, and it never got to the second event which I assume is the one you get Predator Tier III credit. This also seems like an easy fix— make him spawn as a pretty tanky champ, so one person isn’t as likely to take him out before the event chain starts.

The other thing I just noticed is that the first event will get to 4/5 treasures stolen but won’t progress to 5/5, making it impossible to have the event fail.

Where exactly spawns Captain Wiley as elite, respectively where he runs around ?

The only time I’ve ever seen Wiley be an Elite is when he’s inactive (hiding in his cave). Anytime he’s active (when the event is up), he’s a champion. I’ve never seen him as an Elite during the event.

Today, I could kill Wiley. The small update tonight must have corrected the bug. Nice, now I have my precursor and my first legendary.

Sat Jan 09 2016 – I spent most of my day waiting for the pre event for the Captain to spawn. There was no activity at the sunken ship.

Tuesday Jan 12 2016 – Seems like the bug with the captain got fixed. It takes up to three previous events for the captain to appear.

I’ve been camping his spawn point for a few days now and have never seen him. Do the events before have to fail in order for him to show up?

Last thing I need for my predator 3 collection. Never saw him or his pre event spawn. The iron nodes around respawned before it happened, so I think it is bugged.

What events need to happen in order to get the Predator III collection item?

I think he just needs time to respawn if killed.
