Chaos Gloves Undyeable? :<
Tarnished Coast
It’s not a bug. The gloves will always appear white. When you dye them, you’re dyeing the aura around them. The darker the dye, the more noticeable the aura will be.

I know. It’s not dyeing the aura at all. I’ve owned chaos gloves on gw1, I know how they should look. But the aura is staying undyed.

Scratch that: now it’s working, hours later. wtf.
Edit: Annnnnd back to white.

I’ve had this issue since I bought the chaos gloves, but they refuse to change color. My Mesmer is stuck with white for the aura despite being dyed blue, aside from one rare instance in which I loaded and it decided to glow blue. Changed maps, back to white, despite the dye channel never changing off of blue. My Revenant is stuck with a purple color from the moment I transmuted them, even though I never had purple selected for her dye channel. It’s driving me mad that I can’t dye them like everyone else.
Edit for more info: I even tried transmuting the to a different skin, then back to the chaos gloves, no change from that purple glow.
Pictures included to show what I mean.
I’m having the EXACT same problem! This is still happening to me.
Can you ask other people if they see it dyed on their end?

Guildmates told me that they were white on their end. That was on my mesmer, in which the gloves are stuck white.
Just out of curiosity, what happens if you try the dye eraser tool?
ANet may give it to you.

Still white on my mesmer. Still purple on my Revenant.
I even started playing with my graphics settings to see if they had any effect, and the colors remain.
There was a long ago dye problem I remember reading about. One thing that worked for some people was to use the dye eraser tool then log out, then log back in and redye with the wanted color. It might be worth a try.
Another thing that could be tried is to do a client repair, in case you have corrupted files.
ANet may give it to you.
I tried the first method with the dye erase tool, and it did not work. I’m going to try a client repair and will post back the results.
Also, thank you very much for the replies! I hope we get this figured out.
Update: Client Repair. No change.

Yeah client repair won’t work if others see it too. Client is only on your side. If your friends also see it working incorrectly then it’s not client side.
At this point, I’d contact Support and work with ANet on this. Seems to me that you’ve tried all the things you can on your end.

Good luck and please keep us posted on what you find out.
