I am trying to delete a character, but when I type in the name the delete button is still grayed out. Im not sure what I am doing wrong, and I only have normal english letters in the name.

I just tested if I could delete a character and it was not bugged for me.

Would you be willing to mention the name of the character you are trying to delete to see if there is something special about the name?

Or include a screenshot of the name typed into the deletion field and the ‘Delete’ button remaining grayed out.

(if you are worried about someone else taking the name after it is deleted, names are reserved to your account for 24 hours after the character is deleted, so no need to be concerned with that)

I have the same problem.

Have either of you tried to close your game and re-launch it to see if you could then delete the character?

Are you two on the same server? (Dawnskull and Sundsten). It could be a server-specific problem, and then you wouldn’t need to give out any info you feel is confidential. With names beginning with DAWN and SUN, I just sorta figured there might be a connection…

Don’t think we are on the same server, no. here is a pic of the name.

I suspect something to do with that funny carat over the first A. Or is that a perfectly good character in the alphabet where you are logged in from? It is on your keyboard? (I have no idea how / why some people do that otherwise). Are you able to duplicate the carat when you type your name to confirm deletion?

Ah, so there was a non-normal english character in the name.
A circumflex.
Copy this character: â
When entering your name in for deletion hold your CTRL button and press V
This will paste this character into the character name entry text box.
You should then be able to delete it as you would be entering the name in exactly as it is spelled.

Otherwise, holding your ALT key and typing 0226 and releasing the ALT key will type out the â letter.

Yeah. that is the reason. it was not a problem before to delete characters With the same mark in it’s name. one day i logged in and tryed to delete it like i have done before, but now i can’t make the strange a anymore.

Sorry for the late reply.. I’ve tried quiting the game and everything suggested in other topics. I am currently on Aurora Glade and Im sending a pic with the char name and everything

You spelled the name of the character Nanni Dawnsnkull, but you’re typing Nanni Dawnskull in that pic. That may be your problem.

I am thankful for all the help and respons I’ve gotten here and I have now managed to delete my char.. Thanks for pointing out the typo Harvard Comma ^^’
