Guild Wars 2

When I create a human character, be it male or female, or whatever the story I choose for it, whenever I click play after the name input screen, it goes into the loading screen for the starting tutorial area, and then it freezes. It normally takes me a few seconds to load another map, yet the game simply freezes, as well as my whole system sometimes.

Now, I’ve had this computer for a year, not once has it failed to open up task manager or terminate a program within a minute or two in extreme cases. But due to this bug my system completely locks down, I’ve waited half an hour just in case, still nothing, complete system failure, I have to manually restart it.

This has also happened before to my first Asura character, although that time I managed to get past the creator and get up to around 30, and when I tried entering wayfarer’s foothills via Hoelbrak, the system crashed. I still have the character yet every time I try to log, it simply freezes in the loading screen and the computer just locks down again.

This is something serious, hopefully it will be looked at. I play the game at low to medium setting at around 50 fps, so I doubt the reason is overworking my system.

I’ll poke this from time to time, I wonder if anyone else has this problem. Thank you.

Just checked again after the patch, still hasn’t been fixed. It also seems that I can go to wayfarer’s foothills with my current character however the first Asura that I mentioned earlier still cannot log.

Right..it happened again, this time to my new main character, I was using a way point to get to the Plains of Ascalon, which I’ve been to before and even explored completely. Now the same thing is happening to it, and I can’t play the character anymore, simply goes to load screen and then freezes.

This is becoming very annoying and I won’t be playing Guild Wars due to fear of it happening to every single character which I (waste) time on.

I’m having this same problem. I had gotten a human to level 15 and was exploring Lion’s Arch to get some exp, when I got booted by my internet. Now I can’t log into that character at all. I started a new human that was almost exactly the same, got to level 13 then went to explore Hoelbrak. (since I didn’t want to get stuck in Lion’s Arch again) I ended up logging for the night and when I tried to log in the next day, stuck on the loading screen again. I’m very close to uninstalling the game unless support decides to be helpful.
