Guild Wars 2

In the past week or so I’ve noticed that on random occasions while just running around my character will stop moving, pressing the wasd keys won’t make my character move, nor will holding down both mouse buttons, my character just remains in a frozen, unresponsive state for 2 , 3 seconds. I can still use skills can’t move otherwise, it’s not my mouse or wasd keys as they work perfectly everywhere else.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a remedy?

Yes, i experienced the same problem. Sometimes I just stop moving while auto-running, but most of the time I have this problem after using movement-skills like “Ride the Lightning” or “Leap of Faith”. I noticed this the first time on 26th of August 2015.

I have had the same thing happen randomly. Seems too happen mostly after movement skill use, but on occasion my character will just stop. Not keyboard either since I just replaced my old one.

It’s similar to the movement bugs we’ve been having. And whether you have been standing still, then try to move and don’t, or you randomly stop moving, in actuality you are often moving according to the server and others will see you rubberband when you are able to move.

edit: I suppose it’s more of the flip side of this older bug, both are annoying, and both have been happening far too often.

I have it too.. all of sudden it is as if someone has snared my characters feet, despite there being no spell or nothing.

I usually need to type /dance and it’ll fix itself. Sucks in the middle of wvw standing in the middle of the zerg and you have to stop to dance or in pvp qq

Same, a dodge fixes it too.

Ah, so this is a bug too. I first thought that the Immobilize condition applied on you is bugged – lasts 10x longer or something. For me dodge doesn’t do anything, since I cannot move from place. I’ll try dancing then. That would explain why I see people dancing randomly, where not necessary. Or maybe they just like to dance randomly…

It used to happen badly after teleports, ele especially would bug out on a lightning flash and be unable to move, only an emote like /dance would fix it. Now it seems to be randomly, even stopping people that are on autorun.

has there been any acknowledgment from devs yet? This has been happening to me randomly since I started playing 2-3 years ago I’m surprised it hasn’t been fixed…

I’ve had this annoying problem for ages. I call it “animation lock”. For whatever reason, pressing a movement key (WASD) and holding the right mouse button and shaking the camera/cursor unlocks it for me.

Same problem. This bug has been going on for ages and is exceptionally annoying and broken in things such as pvp; and boss fights. Skills that involve movement used to be the prime cause but now it can happen anywhere. Bug Wars 2…..
