Hello.

The problem concerns the mail sent by the NPC’s. Whether it is a renown heart mail, story mail, or some other dungeon etc. mail, the signature line is bugged. The character before the name, which I believe to be a simple “dash” (like this – ), is displaying as a weird, A-letter -like figure. This bug has been with me since the beta, and while it is really a small bother, I’d really like to see if it could be fixed somehow.

I’ve attached a picture compilation of some NPC mail to this, which should show the problem.

A simple re-installation of the game might just do the trick, but since the download is such a long one, I thought first to try my luck here, before doing anything rash that might not actually work.

I actually am not completely sure that this is a bug at all, since I have not seen a mail of any other person receiving NPC mail, so I wouldn’t know for certain. But I assume it is not suppose to look like that, since it isn’t typed like that anywhere in the wiki, or in any other place, where I have seen NPC mail text written.

EDIT:

The problem seems to fixed now, thank you!

I am also having this problem, across two accounts and a full game reinstall.

The text appeared correctly for the first weekend of headstart, and then two weeks following, but the strange A character has been present ever since.

Do you have any extra language support enabled?

Seriously: OS version and whether you have asian font support installed – I’ve seen games misbehave in XP with that support enabled.

I’d try myself, but I have window 7 and don’t know where it has gone with Asian fonts.

The symbol you get, btw, resembles Unicode 0104
