In Misplaced Faith, I’m talking to an NPC female Charr named Emer. It is voice acted.

I say her lines. She then says my lines and threatens herself. She then answers her own threat to herself.

How did this ever get past Anet? It was voice acted wrong. They actually let the voice actors read the wrong lines, and no one noticed? Then implemented it? Then released it? Then 6 months later still have it?

Other issues in the Charr Story. The Warband members that are recruited do not show up. Or the wrong ones show up. This happened in my Ash Legion story and my Iron Legion story. I’m betting my Blood Legion story will be no different.

In the story part where I pick my Order (Whispers, Vigil, or Priory), my warband is there, along with Cimmara Pistolwhip from the Iron Legion side of the story. I’m Ash Legion. She is standing inside Wroda the Quick.

Wroda the Quick is Ash Legion but keeps saying “For Blood!” every time I see her. WTF.

The Home Instance has my Warband Recruits. When I go to talk to them, they say things to me like “What are you looking at? Want to fight? What’s your problem?” and other lines as if they don’t know me and disrespect me. But then when going back into a story (if they show up) their voice acting is back to knowing me and respecting me as their leader and the Charr that saved their lives. But click on them, and they have the same negative challenging disrespectful dialogue again (that random NPCs have).

Wasn’t the Home supposed to show us how we affected the world and how NPCs would react to our heroism by acknowledging us? Over-hype abounded. Failure happened.

It is messy. It is amateurish. And there is more wrong than listed.

Just because the story can advance, I suspect these quality of life issues of the story will be unaddressed. The story of GW2 was a main selling point, but it is buggy and a highlight of rushed content. It reminds me of the broken cinemas from GW1.

Playing Devil’s Advocate since 1990.
