Chat suppression in instances?
chat suppression is annoying, they way I solved it was simply whispering to myself by typing /w then following my char name, I just randomly noticed it by testing what would happen if you did
I believe it will also let you speak in guild chat even if no one else is online in your guild. It’ll just give you some “no one hears you” feedback message, but I believe that’ll help avoid suppression.
I think the way spambots have avoided suppression in the past is by ensuring the first 5 or so characters in their messages are unique, so you could also try typing random gibberish before putting in the item code each time.
SQ’s got a reasonable request though: why not end chat suppression for instances altogether? You can only be in them with a party that you selected (or agreed to join).

I recently received quite a few whispers advertising a certain website, and I noticed that each whisper, which seemed identical, had a little 5 character code at the end. Said code was different for each whisper. I guess that’s how those people are by-passing chat suppression.

Good point, I also had noted that some time ago. And yes, I also think that chat suppression could be removed for home instances at least, where usually you are the only one inside, or together with party members that were invited to enter too, so no harm would be intended there.
