Chomper binding
Immobilize doesn’t work on any of the bosses I think. I tried with Engineer glue bombs and Ranger’s entangle elite. Said “immune” to both bosses.
Any creature with the “Unshakeable” is immune to any type of crowd control as long as they have stacks of “Defiant.” (Each CC that hits them removes 1 stack, if they have 0 stacks, the CC will affect them.)

This is true, but none of the bosses in Queen’s Gauntlet have Unshakeable.
Unshakeable usually does not affect immobilize either. If it says “immune”, there is probably a built-in resistance to it.

Ah, sorry, I have no idea who the OP is referring to, I was answering the post right above mine.

Haha, it’s funny cause that guy was referring to the Gauntlet bosses. These do not have Defiance. And normally immbolize doesn’t count as CC and still works (just like underwater currents work while defiance is active)
that’s exactly my point, well i’ll just waste some more hours on gauntlet someday i will hopefully defeat him, even without immobilize and some other day i will get the achivement for him and so on…
I can shed some light on this. Simply put: we found immobilize made nearly every boss trivially easy. In particular the sylvari elite skill because the bosses would never try to break the vines. Our solution was to remove immobilize from the equation and balance the bosses without it.
I do agree it would be nice if we had a way to visually show this. I’ll see what we can do for the next release.
There is a monster “buff” called unstoppable which is used by risen abominations – it makes them immune to condition derived CC regardless of their stacks of defiance.

Even if the NPCs mentioned it outside, it would have been helpful (and if they already do, apparently I need to read better). But I gotta say I was confused at first trying to use both Pin Down and Flurry (and Bolos on Chomper later), and all not working and I didn’t understand why. Then I’d see others on the forum saying that they just used their CC.
I may need to grab a Superior Sigil of Ice to have a shot at this, or maybe I’ll try a hammer first.

That seems….a little nuts. You basically invalidate control-based builds because they do exactly what they were designed to do.

It’s only immobilise.
Cripple / fear / chill /etc. still work on every boss just fine.
Are there bosses in the gauntlet that immobilize the players? If yes, how about leveling the playing field?

Ranger elite Entangle immobilizes and applies bleeds. I usually use it more for bleed burst, but that did not work on Windcaller Kieldia. No immobilize, no bleeds either. It was only after I reviewed a recording of my fight that I saw the IMMUNE messages popping up and I assumed she was bugged.

This.
Edit: rather, the dev’s move to disable immobilize invalidates a number of skills, including an elite (that doesn’t see much use anyway), without the kind of notification players expect, such as a note in the subtext below a boss name, or as a set of rules woven into the “plot” and perhaps announced by the Ringmaster—except that players I know don’t expect even that much anymore and assume everything’s bugged.
Also, if the affected bosses stealthed, they could likely get out of Entangle after 1.5 seconds. >_>

Wouldn’t coming up with a half-decent AI be a better solution? The current AI it’s from my point of view worse than in GW1. At least there mobs would try to body-block you and close combat mobs would try to defend to a degree the ranged and healers.
Back to the topic at hand nothing in a game should be 100% resistant to CC effects. A certain degree of resistance, the higher tier the boss is the higher the resistance makes sense. The AI should know how to react to CC instead. To completely remove CC from bosses because “they never try to ….” sounds like being lazy.
Please try to focus on quality over quantity.

You should never, and i say never limit the player skill on bosses. You should tell to boss to attack vines when they are rooted, this yes, because if a thief (i refere to a thief because is the class i play most) use is stealth + autoattack (root) to take a breath and this don’t work is a wrong design. totally.
Also after some times you stealth, you can’t do it more because of the reveal buff that increase his duration. This is a bad design trust me.
