Guild Wars 2

In the last week, on at least 5 occasions my client has locked up so that it is completely unresponsive to any input. The display is frozen, although background sound and music continue.

On at least two of those times, the client has recovered, although once my character was assaulted and killed will the screen was locked.

The lockup is so severe that at lease on some occasions ALT-TAB does not minimize the app and put me back in Windows.

My server is Sanctum of Rall; my character is Hoorl, a level 78 charr. I am running Windows 7 home premium edition, 64 bit. 8 GB RAM, 8 cores, 3.1 GHz. Graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6800 series.

Given that ALT-TAB quits working, I’d think the problem is at my end except that this has just started to happen, and my /age is 205 hours 37 minutes over the last 30 days. (Maybe a Windows update is screwing things up?)

And a freeze again tonight, so that is twice within the span of an hour.

Another thing that has been happening tonight is that that sometimes when fighting NPCs, the sound cuts out.

Are you having exceptionally high loads?
