I have 2 audio devices that I use on a regular basis. Audio device “Realtek High Definition Audio” is the audio device that my PC speakers are plugged into. “Jam Transit Headphones Stereo” is the audio device for my bluetooth headset. I have the bluetooth headset set as my default audio device, but when I power them off, the Realtek device becomes the default.
In the Guild Wars 2 client, I have “Speaker (Realtek High Definition)” selected as my output device, not Default Device. That way (in theory), if I turn on my headset to listen to Pandora or a YouTube video, or some other form of media, I am not hearing the game sounds as well. There seems to be a bug, because even though I have the output device set to “Speaker (Realtek High Definition)”, when I turn on my bluetooth headset, the sound starts coming out of my bluetooth headset. And the output device listed in the audio output device list in the GW2 settings still says ""Speaker (Realtek High Definition)", yet I can hear the client audio through my headset. If, once the audio is coming out of my headset, I select Default Device, then “Speaker (Realtek High Definition)”, the audio starts coming from the PC speakers again. But I shouldn’t have to do that. The WoW client and the FF14 client don’t have this issue.
