Why are they yet to fix this bug? I tried searching for related threads but as we all know the forum search is broken.

This has been around since release. It’s unfair that I know exactly how to do this fight but if I get bugged out due to a crystal, I will down because of ice, then wipe if my party are in trouble and can’t res me quick enough without it compromising them.

I don’t understand how this can be a hard fix, and have they ever commented on this bug? Or mentioned any plans to resolve it?

What I have noticed, is if the crystal is destroyed too fast (like if everyone stacks) or a second crystal is put on you (I think it’s caused by the first crystal destroyed too fast, so a second is applied and you have to wait out the time but it could be 2 related bugs).

However, for thief or mesmer, you can get out of it by blink/shadowstep, just make sure you target away from where you currently are. I save them only for when party breaking the crystal doesn’t free me (or if the aoe is about to hit), but you can just get out of it at any time… and hope you aren’t hit with it again.

I think it’s something that is difficult to reproduce, therefore difficult to fix. Stacking seems to be what causes the problem to occur, so they may not be in a hurry to fix it anyways.

This bug was not there since the beginning. It was introduced in one of the major patches. I don’t remember for certain but I believe it was around the same time they introduced a bug where you could one-shot some objects yer their actual model stayed rendered for few more seconds.

And no, it’s not hard to reproduce. Have a single zerk ele with fgs against a wall and if Alpha crystallizes during the dmg ticks, he’ll get himself bugged – 100% of time.
