My boyfriend just observed a commander demanding that people fail an event in Frostgorge Sound, or be reported by the whole zerg following the commander.

Sounds familiar, right? This is exactly what happened at the Coiled Watch Champ Farm a few months back. It was nerfed, but apparently not enough.

The event itself is called Breaking The Ice and is required to be completed for part of the Living Story.

The commander has been reported and a bug/exploit report filed.

As what has been discussed previously on the Coiled Watch threads, threatening to report/reporting somebody who has not broken the rules is against the rules itself. Moreover, purposefully trying to fail an event in this way is exploitative and makes it difficult for some people to continue their LS. This kind of farming is toxic to the community.

A-net. Change the champs here to elites or veterans. Get rid of the champs here and you get rid of your problem.

Just complete it if you need it. People progressing their LS is more important than the loss of a few champ bags. Nothing will happen to those completing the event and anyone who harasses players on the chat channel(s) should be reported.

That isn’t really the point- the point is that the event is still exploitable and creating a toxic community. Although I would complete the event as intended despite report threats from the farmers, a lot of people wouldn’t be so bold.

Arena-net obviously don’t want the farming to continue, otherwise they wouldn’t have nerfed it before. The problem is, it’s making a return.

I completed it just fine yesterday…with a huge group there even. I got over 10 champ bags from this event chain and not one event failed or was there anyone being toxic. They changed the fail timer so that the restart is the same regardless (or so I thought). There is no reason to purposely fail it and it would suck if they removed champs from the spawn. I like it the way it is.

There is nothing wrong with the event. Anet changed it in a very good way. No champ train wants to fail it anymore.
So if the people on the map just don’t want to do the LS events for you then it is your problem and you can change to another megaserver map. It is no exploit at all.

There is only one reason to ask people to wait. That would be if the most people did the pre event and have to walk there. If you can’t wait for the others than it is just sad.
