So, the boss has a fairly simple mechanic: He has a much larger than normal health pool and dragging him under the molten material applies the superheated debuff which makes him take much more damage. This works just fine with most characters as damage is damage. The problem comes in when using conditions against him. Whether he has the debuff or not he takes standard condition damage, and since the boss has such an enlarged health pool this makes condition damage almost useless against him.

This goes for both the powersuit and elemental.

This is not a bug.
You’ll always be able to do enough damage with 4 players attacking it, even if they are all condition focused. It will just take a ridiculous amount of time.
