Guild Wars 2

Since the latest update yesterday the game has become completely unstable for me. It was actually reasonable ok before I set out for work at 1pm GMT. Had played for hour with a one or two EXE crashes to desktop. I return home, fire up my machine at 00.30 GMT and go to Lion’s Arch and within the space of 30 minutes the EXE has crashed to desktop 15 times. I can get maybe one or two minutes of play then the game just falls over. It really has become pointless. All of this only began yesterday after update.
Nothing has changed at my end same computer, same drivers, same everything. In the 250/300 Hours put in to the game it’s been stable but for a recurring problem when going through gates after a few hours play. Nothing I couldn’t handle. This on the other hand is a deal breaker. Turns the Fun into a chore.

Same here happening to me you arent alone, i cant get into the game for 10 seconds and it crashes instantly and sometimes the graphics are just busted. This only happened after the Lost Shores update aswell, i have over 150 hours of gameplay everything was good before the patch, i am kind of higher than the minimum requirements. i tried updating my Graphic card and tried using the old FoV
but the same result always.

Same here. I don’t crash as often as 10 seconds but I cannot play for 20-30 minutes before the interface screws up with the yellow and cyan colors and the map glitches thinking that I haven’t explored anything.

It’s really annoying and I simply will refuse to play the game until the next update. I can’t enjoy Fractals because I don’t want to end up crashing and screwing my guild mates over when I can’t rejoin them. I’m assuming it’s the 32bit-system and Nvidia card issue for me (My card is the GTX 550 Ti) but even so I hope this issue is fixed with the next update. If not, and it persists after LS, I may not be able to play Guild Wars 2 simply because it is so unstable right now for me.

I really hope someone can help us out and fix it. It’s already irritating enough with the other bugs.

I too am using an Nvidia GTX 550Ti.

Exactly the graphics get busted, i too use 32-bit but win 7.
the map is all Blue and yellow squares the game keeps freezing and all after lost shores update. And there is an event going on and i cant play, i hate that no one is answering to this :/

Same here. Guild Wars 2 crashes my computer and leaves it in an unstable state…probably because it sets the graphics card to a mode and the card is left there when the game goes away.

The result is that I have to power down my computer completely so that the graphics card can reinitialize when I turn the power back on again. Doing a restart does not fix the graphic card on my machine; I have to power off completely.

It takes my Windows machine 12 minutes to reboot due to the many drivers I have on it.

This sucks. Big time.

I’m having the same problem. Have about 90 hours in before this update and it has never crashed. Now I’m crashing after about 5 minutes in game and i’m nowhere near any of the karka events. Travelling to lions arch crashes it for me.
EDIT: Now it’s just completely unplayable. I can’t login for 10 seconds without crashing. I don’t want to do the karka crap I just want to PLAY the game!

There is a solution, search for the Local.dat file and rename it to anything. its in documents probably. NOTE: make sure you remember your info (user and pass) and custom modifications because youll have to do them again.

I have the same issues with the cyan colors, the map gliching and the crashing going to extreme levels latly sense the start of this lost shores content. I want to play, but its unbarallbly frustrating.

As much as I would love to I hate messing around with files partaining to the game due to past experience. Surely this is an easy fix from the devs side of things. My worry is that even after the event this issue persists. Then I might take you up on your advise.
