Guild Wars 2

It seems like every 5-15 minutes or so, I get a lag spike for 1 minute. All the other players and monsters move around normally, but I can’t cast any spell and my character is treated like it is staying at the place when the lag spike began (so if I move away from the area, the monster’s aoes still affect me). After the lag spike is finished, I don’t normally get teleported back to the place I was, but it happened a few times.

Makes the game completely unplayable. The lag spikes are so bad that everytime I get into a fight and they happen, I am FORCED to die. I also didn’t have those kinds of lag spikes before today, which makes me think it has something to do with the patch. Anyone else is affected by this?

EDIT: I also get booted back to the character selection screen every hour or so apparently.

I cant even update it is so slow, it freezes at 0 KB /sec. I finally made it to 3476 KB and dont want to restart but I dont think i have a choice.

Do you have an AMD/ATI video card? If yes, does your screen flicker or go totally black requiring to restart game (while other applications work fine)? This happens to me and a some other people and i don’t know yet if it’s patch (arenanet) related or due to last AMD driver update which pretty much was in the same time frame

since the patch my gw client has gone from using on avg 5xx,xxxk memory to almost two million.

although i don’t have any lag issues but my computer sounds like it’s trying to power a jet plane.

My game keeps loosing connection to the login servers every 5 min or so.
This was not the case before the Wintersday patch

My video card is AMD, but I don’t get any flicker or black screen. It just does lag spikes and lost connections. It seems like there’s always a lag spike occuring before I get booted to the character selection screen, but I’m always able to get back into the game without any loading issue.

ive been having the same exact problem since the winter patch. ive swept thru my whole system trying to find something that could be causing it and also contacted my isp and its not them either. the lag upon entering combat is entirely unbearable when solo and even worse when grouped.

skill lags, skill delay, game lags and freezes, disconnects without warning. Its bad for pvp and I ,lost two matches over it. FIX IT kitten IT!
