The 5th dropdown menu from the top is “Content Guide”.

Changing the selection in the dropdown menu has exactly zero effect on what I see on my UI.

Please fix this – believe it or not, I don’t care to see unfinished story items and daily items on my screen. It takes away from the beauty of the world – most of the time I don’t want to see it.

I’m afraid the Content Guide has nothing to do with Dailies.

You can, however, change which/how many Dailies you see in the Hero/Achievement Panel.

Then what does it do? I can’t see that it does anything at all, and I’d love to be able to turn off all that text on my screen…

It points you to different things in the map, depending on what you want it to point you to. That’s all.

You can tell it to point you to Story Instances, or Events, or neither. Stuff like that. It’s a Content Guide, not a UI changer, I’m afraid.
