Hello:
Today I purchased some experience boosters from the Gem Store and also bought some Black Lion keys which yielded two crafting boosters from chests. I took this opportunity to level Huntsman and Leather Working to 400 on my level 4 Engineer. I bought all the necessary mats as indicated my gw2crafts.net and used the Crafting Booster and for fun used an XP booster as well. When I was done my Engineer was level 25 1/2.
Something peculiar I noticed was that following the guide as it’s written (which doesn’t include the use of a booster) I arrived at each new crafting level EXACTLY as the guide said I would.
Forgive me if I am in error, but I was under the impression that using a booster increases your crafting skill level by 50% as indicated in the tool tip but this clearly wasn’t the case as I would have reached max level on crafting 50% faster, instead of reaching each new skill level exactly when the guide said I would.

Something seems amiss.
I guess boosters also do not stack, hence why the XP booster didn’t give meany extra experience in addition to the Crafting one.

Just a side note. When the game was patched recently and then we had multiple patches (the New Lion’s Arch layout), I had used a Celebration Booster on my Guardian. Afterwards I was kicked from the game when it restarted (although it was announced in-game 20 seconds before that there would be a new build in 50 minutes). After downloading the patches and l logged back in to discover my Celebration booster was gone, to be replaced with some type of Mists (PvP) buff on all my characters.

Lately I’ve been spending on average $35 every two weeks on my account, $50 so far this week. I hope to spend more in the future but will wait and see if this is just a bug or working as intended.

XP boosters only boost experience from kills (says so in its buff description); they won’t give you extra exp from any other source. Crafting boosters give you bonus crafting exp, not necessarily leveling exp. So, if you use a crafting booster, it’ll make your crafting level advance more quickly; your normal level experience gain will largely be unaffected. And the crafting booster worked as intended when I did some crafting the other day.

One thing that DOES give you bonus leveling exp with crafting (and other ways that don’t have to involve kills) is the lunar new year fireworks. You can buy them on the TP.

Understood about the XP boostyer as I figured this was the issue. However since going out to randomly kill Bandits and such in Queensdale, I haven’t received much extra experience as far as I can tell. So it seems to not be working as well.
As stated previously though I should have been well ahead of the guide I was using (have used it previously) instead of hitting each new crafting level exactly when the guide said I would. Basically the booster provided no new crafting experience.
