Not every time, but a lot and often in succession, when I open BLTC it crashes the whole game. At first I thought it was connected to attempting to sell something directly from inventory, but this time it happened just hitting the icon, so I’m thinking it’s a problem with BLTC in general.

The TP is a web-browser that works only with the API for the bits of the database related to the market. Like any browser, it suffers issues if the cache (stored data to make pages load faster) gets corrupted or too big. Like any browser, it’s subject to issues if your computer is hijacked by malware.

The easiest thing to tackle is the cache. Normally, it gets cleared with each update (that’s new in the last year or so). You can manually clear it by following one of the stickies in the account/tech support forum.

If that doesn’t do much, then double check that your anti-malware software is up-to-date and scan your computer again.

Another potential issue occurs when Windows 10 is confused about which browser is your default, e.g. IE vs Firefox etc. Turns out that there are two different places you can set the preferred browser and both need to point to the same one (otherwise GW2’s TP sometimes has trouble). This is easy to test for:

• with the game open, type /wiki Braham (or whatever you like)
• if you get your browser opening to Braham ,then great.
• if you get an error or a crash or a different browser opening, then you know that this is a strong candidate for the root cause

The crash isn’t consistent. Sometimes BLTC works sometimes it fails. I can go for a while, swapping characters with no problem, then it will suddenly fail. This is why I think it’s a server issue, or something along those lines. Because it’s something that can be irregular across sessions.
