So I randomly crash on boss mobs and miss the drops which is irritating but since precursers no longer drop off world bosses no biggie, I have a great rig 32 ram, GeForce 980, Pentium 7, ssd, soundblaster xfi card, asus gaming monitor, and I have done ever stress test possible and I never crash on any other game. As a matter of fact ive now ran 25 games at full graphics and they don’t crash. m wondering why this game with its 3 yr old game engine crashes. Ive sent many bug reports and zero response. so lets see if this gets any answers.

Are you sure your processor isn’t bottlenecking your GPU? You want at least i5 with a card that good. I personally go i7 myself (Haswell i7 4770k not upgrading until Cannonlake when I’ll update to a PCIe SSD since busses should be optimized for them by then) since I like do have lots of video editing headroom and multitask enough to sometimes justify that many virtual cores.

However, I crash a lot on Tequatl and the engine is much older than three years old. It runs off DirectX9 which was obsolete back in 2008 at least and a 32-bit API.

Just crashes back to desktop, no error message ?

just crashes and then the "send to anet " screen appears. I have tested everything so guess I will just have to play with crap graphics since using a 10th of my vid cards power upsets this ancient game engine.

Still need to answer the operating system question. Depending on which, many have or do try to take over the natural driver of the video card, and, in most cases, depending on how much pron you have and ya know, family photos or whatnot, reformatting and eliminating windows updates can relieve the issue, be installed one at a time with restore dates, and the proper update can be eliminated. This ended up working for me when my game would crash, and I run SLI, i9, 3 monitors, so a silly little game should not be doing this. I cut off all updates beyond SP1 on win7 and have had very few issues since, no more often than the regular old crash..

i don’t think this is a bug from the system, more like a coding bug wich crashes the game.
i have that very often…error log says always that it could not load certain textures and such stuff.

this was just in lions arch. most times i get errors like that in openworld events and sometimes in fractals / dungeons, but there not that often.

has anybody an idea if it helps to repair / download the complete game new to get a clean version?

Repair might help but I doubt it. That bug is ancient and the only way to prevent it is playing the game on low. Especially at tequatl.
