Guild Wars 2

I went and did my first jumping puzzle for the first time. Mind you I have never been anywhere close to this area before.

I completed the first half of the jumping puzzle and opened a small low level chest that contained some blue (that is not the end of the puzzle, but only halfway through). I pressed on, found the veteran troll that was guarding a bigger, higher level chest. However the chest he was guarding was already opened.

Once again, I had never been to that area before, but yet it was already opened. Even after killing the Veteran troll it was not able to let me loot it.

I am technically assuming this is a glitch, but if it isn’t I need to know. Do you forfeit the larger chest if you give up and open the first chest you see? Is this working as intended and I don’t understand it?

I had the same issue. Stumbled upon the puzzle by accident, fought my way to the Veteran Troll, but the chest was allready opened. I returned a day later with some other people and the chest was open for them as well.

No news on this?

I just ran through it the same way (opened small chest before I found the rest of the puzzle), and the big chest was already opened. Maybe you can only loot one. That’s kind of a bummer.

Just ran the puzzle today and same thing- the chest was already open when I got there.

Same here but I think that it’s part of the puzzle. The ‘folly’ being opening the regular chest. Going to test this tomorrow after the reset.

Yay for stuff you can only know if you read a guide. Not like other jumping puzzles have bonus chests or anything. I really don’t get why Anet spends so much effort trying to make me rage.
