Same thing, tab is blank. Deleted those cache folders, doesn’t help.

I just kept trying, opening and closing the window, and finally it came back?

Similar problem. I have not been able to use the Custom Gem Exchange for many days now

;w; i just started playing and i wanted to show my love for the game nd get some gems but im haveing the same issue on top of not being able to even buy gems both my cards and paypal have been declined, I even had to buy the game from Amazon wasnt able to buy from the shop.

For those who claim that deleting cache will fix the problem, yet there’s no explanation on how exactly to be done.

Its either true “which there’s no prove yet”, or fake.

For me clearing the cache folder (located in C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Temp)
fixed the problem (i deleted the entire folder).

I take it back. It worked exactly once after a week of trying many times per day and now it’s back to the same issue. Ugh… I should have exchanged all of my gems at once.

OK I followed this advice posted by StinVec and it fixed my issue. Clear the GW2 Cache.

Clear the game cache

In addition to ‘Running As Administrator’ helping with many issues other than just the TP, most TP-specific issues are primarily related to some temporary GW2 files where removing them will allow them to be recreated and the TP to function properly again.
The quickest way to clear the GW2 Cache is to:

1) Ensure your game is completely closed.

2) Hold your “Windows Key” and press “F” to open Windows Search on your computer.

3) Search for “gw2cache”. It will find a folder called “gw2cache-{bunch-of-letters-and-numbers}” at: “C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Local\Temp”
Delete this “gw2cache-{bunch-of-letters-and-numbers}” folder that is shown in the results.

4) Load up your game normally and your TP should now function properly.

I wanted to buy a character slot today with the sale and all and I’ve been trying to convert gold to gems all day and I keep getting this page over and over. I’ve repaired my client, I’ve restarted several times. I just can’t get it to work. I’m kind of sad now that I won’t be able to get the character slot while it is on sale as I’ve been waiting for a sale like this for a long time now. I’ve attached a screenshot to demonstrate what is happening when I click on the currency exchange tab.

Yeah have the exact same issue. Oddly enough there seems to be places you can click on the blank area that opens the gem purchase window (for RL cash).

I’m getting a very similar issue. I can load up the Gem Store no problems, but when I choose “Buy Gems” the menu for gem purchasing pops up but doesn’t load any options to choose in order to actually purchase gems. The “Buy Gems” menu loading then also pushes down anything previously loaded in the gem store landing screen so that only the categories are clickable/visible.

Very frustrating as I’m obviously unable to take advantage of any of the prices in the sale.

*edit: I was able to access the ability to purchase gems by clicking inside the “its easy to purchase more gems..” section and pulling down on the mouse – thus ‘scrolling through’ the contents. I had to do that in each subsequent step. So the style sheet on the Gem Store is very much not rendering/loading correctly.

Have you guys tried running game in window mode or changing graphic settings by any chance?

I can finely buy gems, is it serverside that im not able to use the exchange or is it me? I see the gem exchange but it says that it is disabled try again later.

Ah….. it worked once for me, now i cant exchange again …

This problem persists and no response from anybody in support or from anybody on here. I guess only a few people have this issue so screw us.

I have the same problem as Zealex. I tried clearing my gw2cache but unfortunately that didn’t solve it. I am kind of hoping to convert my gold to gems before the deal on the Gadgeteer’s Gathering Package ends.

I’m stuck with the same problem and I’m very frustrated (as many others are).

Clearing the cache did not work for me. I’ve closed the game client, rebooted the computer, and tried on all character s on the account without any luck.

Same issue. Glad I bought gems that I can’t use as intended…

I fixed it now by converting the gold to gems on a different character.

Edit: I also contacted support and received a reply that they are looking into it. That might have something to do with it as well.

My exchange corrency doesn’t work since the last update on the trading post…

Ok, I cleared the entire Temp folder, but apparently it didn’t do anything, but I noticed that there was tooltips appering in the window when I passed the cursor over it, so I began to click all over the window like a madman and it worked after 5 seconds…
I must have hit the button Custom Exchange by chance, which refreshed the window..

2 days ago stop work gem store (only gem store, trading post work norm). today i clear cashe in firefox and after that all black lion traiding company windows are clear(((

Anet support got back to me, literally trying to offset all blame onto my ISP. I guess all of our ISPS are in on this together.

I have Optimum Online, does anybody without Optimum have this issue or is it really my ISP?

I’ve just encountered a can’t-use-exchange issue that is a bit different from what I see above: I want to buy 40 or so gems with gold to get enough to pick up the Inventor’s Sunglasses while they are on sale today. When I do the Custom Exchange, the BLTC panel brings up the preview of how much gold I’ll have left and how many gems total I’ll have but just hangs there flashing. I’ve tried it 3 times, same results. Could be I’ll find I’ve spent more gold than I wanted to on gems if they all process through later.

I do not intend to spend 10 bucks real money in order to get 20 times the gems I need for this. I haven’t stockpiled gems since the town clothes change, and intend to stick to that even if I miss out on this sale as a result.

I can use other parts of the trading post, but the tab for the currency exchange is blank, apparently this same thing has happened recently, is there a fix coming?

I’m having the same issue. The buttons and everything are still there (hover your cursor over the right spots and the tooltips will show up); they’re just invisible for some reason.

Same. I’ve now missed some items on the Gem store. I’ve cleared cache and tried other characters. No luck. Gem store and main buy/sell window are fine, the Currency Exchange is a blank slate but I can mouse over the black area and I can see the mouseover text. Not normal buttons, text or graphics though.

I’m having issues buying gems :| sale ends in 3 hours and stuff I want……. tried a couple times. Don’t know if it helps but trying to buy 8000gems

I posted a similar issue a day or two ago. Havent had much of a response. I had a support ticket in but they are saying it is my ISP. I would believe it but I tried a vpn and it persists.

I’m having this issue and my ISP is not Optimum. I’ve tried clearing cache, running as admin and using different characters, nothing works. I still have a blank screen with an invisible ‘get more funds’ or something. Gem Store and TP work fine.

It’s disappointing because I was going to snag an outfit on sale before going to bed, then this happens. I only needed 125 gems. :/

I haven’t been able to access the Currency Exchange window, either. I know it is not my ISP. Missed out on some sales because of this. I hope they fix it, soon. =(

It’s been blank for me for days. Using some work-arounds, I can get the purchase Gems (with cash) window, but just a blank for the Exchange.

Please fix this. (I don’t use Optimum.)

I am having the same issue. No matter how much I wait the currency exchange page will not load thanks anet for help resolving this issue.

Even if it was your ISP, how is it only effecting that one tab in the trading post?

I hope someone has encountered this problem and can help me. the same official website gw2 displayed in the format html. I apologize for my English, and I can not exactly describe to All for you. I did not help to run as administrator, did not help to clear the cache, I reinstalled Windows 2 times before it all erased, and reinstalled the game 3 times. but nothing helped, I think the problem with the internet, but I tried my DNS server on the 8888 and 8844 did not help.

Yeah, I have been having the same trouble the past 2 days. Attached is my screen shot showing the blank Black Lion Trading Company Currency Exchange. I have submitted several in game trouble reports but have received no response. Problem still exists.

Yeah, I am currently dealing with support but I get the feeling they are at a loss as well and are just going through the motions and hoping something works.

Things I’ve done so far.
1. Changed my DNS to google DNS.
2. Repaired my client.
3. Reinstalled my client.
4. Tried on a different computer.
5. Ran NCSoft Game Advisor. Sent Logs.
6. Ran Hijackthis. Sent logs.
7. Tried public wifi source.
8. Disabled all start up programs so all I had was Guild Wars 2 running and vital system processes.

At this point I’m pretty much at the point where I expect I’ll never be able to use the currency exchange.

So, in short, I have no gold but a lot of gems and nothing in the gem store that I want/didn’t buy already. So I figured I’d turn one into the other.
But when I press the “buy” button to get gold for gems on the Currency Exchange tab, the button gets pressed, the screen goes dark-ish and the gold and gem pictures up top sort of pulsate/flash.
But nothing else seems to happen and both currencies remain unchanged.

I tried relogging, rebooting and waiting 24 hours, on advice of my guildies. But this hasn’t really fixed the problem.

Is this problem just on my end, or are more people experiencing this? And does anyone know a fix?

Any help would be very much appreciated. ^^

I had this problem for a few days, and as soon as I mentioned having it to a friend (who didn’t have the problem), I found myself magically able to gain access ._.

It’s certainly a problem and is really inconsistent. My best advice is to just keep trying and eventually it might work. And it seems that once it gets unstuck, it runs into no further problems.
