This statue is bugged (circled in red in picture), and appears to have been so for quite some time. Even when the statue says it is uncontested, brambles appear when you try to claim the skill point. There are rumors that it is somehow linked to Grenth (because of location) as well as Melandru, which causes it to glitch on occasion.
I have actually finished the Melandru temple quest-line, immediately gone over to claim the hero challenge point, and still had to deal with the brambles.
Is there a plan in place to look into this and fix it? It’s kind of ridiculous that players are being forced to trade off to get their last Hero Challenge point in that area, simply because a bug has yet to be fixed.
