I saw this listed under Technical Support in Network issues, but this isn’t client-side in terms of the customer’s network. It’s a bug derived issue so I felt the need to start it up in the bug report section.
Cursed Shore, the level 80 zone, is almost unplayably laggy, and also somewhat exploitable currently. Everyone on every server experiences severe lag in this zone specifically with examples including unresponsive skill bar, 1 ability during a fight per 4-30 seconds, mobs not aggroing or aggroing from the zone away, chat lag, vendor lag, basically everything lag causes except for rubberbanding, which allows the exploit of zone exploration without danger of aggro. This, short of fight-based points like skill points at least, since fighting in the zone is nigh impossible. Events in higher level zones in general seem broken but this entire zone is a nightmare right now.
I will say this is remeniscient of the type of lag in WvW, which seems to be an Anet side issue of server keeping up with large amounts of change in very short periods of time.
The current player conspiracy theory, if it helps, is that an island in the zone infinitely spawns sylvari hounds into the hundreds in a small area, and somehow this messes with the server’s ability to keep track of what is where in the zone each milisecond. Whether or not that is true, it is an issue, and also hillarious.
I would prioritize this as a lot of people want and need to do this zone now. People got to 80 very fast, and… minor spoiler incoming….
