The files for the Revenant are in every players’ game regardless of whether they buy the expansion or not, so no, its definitely not a case of being forced to buy or anything like that. Just a bug.

Not exactly, I haven’t pre-ordered HoT and I just passed by 2 revenants and I was just fine, no crash or any other issue. Maybe it’s just coincidence or maybe any files related to revenant got corrupted in your client. Try to repair the game and see if it helps. I haven’t pre-ordered and just did the Karka Queen next to a boat load of Revenants. No problem whatsoever.

Hello all i know is that i keep getting a serious error and the client randomly stops, this only started happening when the BETA started, and players can play Revenant.

Two of my friends are facing the same problem, and everyone who did are telling me that yeah its happening to those who haven’t pre-ordered HOT when i asked on map chat.

I see, but well, as I tried to point out it doesn’t mean it affects everyone who didn’t pre-order, there are exceptions it seems. Btw, it seems some revenant effects are missing files, maybe it among other things is what is triggering the issues that you and others are facing, or somehow related to it.
