Temporary fix: Avoid playing on the affected character/s, do not log into them at all.

Hi i am posting this here because i have yet to get any results from submitting a ticket/ bug request and would like to see if anyone else has resolved this issue. The response to my support ticket was just to submit a bug request, so i have done so.

In short my dailys simply will not reset, the timer ticks to 00:00 and just stops, nothing resets, i log out or change map and the timer then restarts for the next day but nothing happens.

I have tried many of the suggesions i have seen on the forums:
-Logging into WvW at reset time
-Logging out completly
-Completing some extra achievements to try and trigger a reset
-Playing a different character/ new character.

Possible cause:
All i can say for sure is that i have not been getting any daily rewards since i started doing the pavilion.

So far i have missed out on 2 weeks worth of daily reset rewards such a laurels, achievement points and i assume this applies to all other daily timers (crafting, dungeons, fractals). In short this has made many aspects of the game some what pointless to play. Therefore if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Yes my system date and time are fine.

Just did the three worms tripple trouble, yeah no rewards, havnt done it for about a week……..any other ideas anyone? Game is pretty much unplayable.

Tried clearing your cache? -Repairing your client? Switching from server to local time or vice versa? Using a different source for your computer clock?

Just some wild guesses off the top of the head….

Have just tried the client repair, no change yet but ill check after reset. I fail to see why the issue would be with my client when surely all of this stuff would be server bound.

Just trying to help. The problem is, you (or you and a very select few) are the only one(s) having this issue. If it were server-bound, it would seem everyone, or most everyone, would be experiencing this anomaly.

Can you make some screenshots of the daily achievements and there status that is shown under your hero panel ? Would be interesting to see what is shown there. Do thay change from day to day ? Are they shown all as completet ? Or isn’t there anything visible at all ?

Getting the same bug as well, appeared once before but it went away and decided to come back again lol. I think I was in a megaserver waiting to start some guild missions when the dailies reset leaving me with 5/5 with 8 categories completed and 1/3 daily pvp matches played.

Interesting thing about it is that the previous day I missed the final revive I needed and only got 4/5 for that day. I did have one of them highlighted in the achievement watch panel, but that has never bugged for me before. It also disappeared after the reset.

So logged in again today, still broken, nothing i can do personaly will fix this and as confirmed by Vaultnishi this has been happening to others ever since the megaservers rolled out. Tried a complete reinstall…yeah a waste of time.

Note this bug is by no means limited just to my achievements, i cant do dungeons, fractals, world bosses, spvp, crafting, daily gauntlets, mining in my home instance, nothing will reset at all. Until this is fixed i honestly do not feel like playing because a part from these daily tasks theres very little for me to do.

I guess i can post this, but since your asking this was my response and thus i am following its guidance. I would also suggest if anyone else has this issue to submit an in-game bug report to try and escalate a fix for this.

“To better address the issues with your game, please be so kind to submit an in-game bug report. This will send detailed information about your character and your position directly to our Quality Assurance Team and will help us kitten the issue as promptly as possible. To submit a bug report in the game, simply click on the “Game Menu” button in the upper left-hand corner of the game interface, then choose the “Support” option on the Game Menu. That option will allow you to review known issues, report a bug, or contact Customer Support.

You’re also welcome to report a game issue in the Game Bugs sub-forum of the Guild Wars 2 Forums ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs ). You may include screenshots with your forum report, if you wish to do so. While we are unable to respond directly to each bug report that we receive on the forums or through the game interface, each report is reviewed and escalated, when appropriate."

Well, that’s not very helpful! I might post over in Tech Support, as well….maybe Ashley has some ideas. Obviously, something is different with your copy of the game, or your set up, as most do not have this issue.

That doesn’t sound like a ticket submitted to Tech CS, but rather an in-game Bug Report. And yes, you will never get a response from an in-game Bug Report.

Just to elimitate two other attempts that did not work.

1)Created new character and logged into it after reset.
2)Completed a daily achievement to see if this would restart the reset timer.

I’ve been having the same problem for a while now, only started noticing it when I started levelling a mesmer.

I don’t know if it’s connected, but when I log on the first time in the day, it shows my daily progress as 0/5. Then when I select my mesmer and load into the game, it’s suddenly 5/5. When I logged in as my thief yesterday though, my dailies remained uncompleted. Logged on mesmer today and they’re suddenly all completed.

I’ll log in to my thief first tomorrow and see if the dailies are reset, and report back here.

Guess what, we have a hat-trick. I too main a mesmer right now and it has broke whilst playing on my mesmer….interesting.

Did another test today, I waited out the reset in wvw on my home borderlands (away from megaservers) while on my guardian alt and my dailies reset. I believe it was because I was in wvw at the time of the reset (5/5 stayed the same when I joined wvw). I’m guessing I have to be online and in wvw at every reset until the problem is fixed.

Edit: Hm seems the things we had in common was the monthly achievement (I crafted a bunch of the essences for the count, didn’t think to post about it) and we we’re on different characters at time of reset.

Unless they fixed it without saying anything xD.

Ok a quick update…

I somehow through a combination of attempts have managed to get the dailys to reset. For anyone else interested this is what i have done today, quite alot so i cant really pin-point the fix. Most of this was probably useless/made no difference but i was getting desperate after over two weeks of this nonsense.

1) Completed 1x monthly goal and got my monthly chest.
2) Crafted 1 Ascended daily material .
3) Changed my systems internet time provider to that of a different server (which made no difference in time as it was already correct).
4) Set my ingame clock to Server Time and waited for the reset.
5) Logged into a character i havnt played for 6 months and waited for reset.

Edit: Just seen your WvW response, i was in Divinitys Reach when mine reset.

Reporting back- I logged on as my thief first today, and my daily progress is 0/5, even after switching to my mesmer. I’ll complete my daily today, log on tomorrow as my thief to see if it resets again, then mesmer the next day (…this thing takes forever).

Well i logged into my mesmer straight after reset, mostly good news but its still buggy.

For the most part my dailys have reset however they are currently stuck at 2/5 with the “Recycler” and “Daily Events” already being completed. My Daily gatherer is now at 9/20 despite it being 20/20 yesterday, same with daily kills being 28/50.

This does not make any sense, as of my current testing these reset issues are only occuring when logging into my mesmer ( the character this bug started on). Funnily enough it also appears that the only achievements that havnt reset are the ones i completed on my mesmer.

No playing my mesmer main then i guess.

My third time writing this reply as the site keeps crashing with the error “Sorry, this area isn’t available yet. Please check back later. Try going back home?”.

Anyway i have yet again done triple trouble and yet again NOT been rewarded, no chest, nothing. I am now close to 3 weeks of play with virtualy nothing to show for it, should i even bother continuing? Whats the chances a dev will even look into this issue?

Tonight ill log into another character again during the reset time and see what happens. As for Dontonberry and Vaultnisi, if your still around, have either of you managed to nail down a method to prevent this/ cause this bug? All indications so far states that my mesmer is just fubar.

I logged into the my necro and waited in eotm for reset and got the 0/5 for the daily achievements. I was able to then complete them on my Mesmer (getting the fractal daily chest, daily node gathering and was able to complete the monthly/daily on him as well. I also completed ac path 1 and 3 and got the bonus chests from them as well). Haven’t messed around with world bosses to much, but I’ll try and fight some later to see if I get anything from it.

But yeah, I think Mesmer is the core of the issue here (Or at the very least the character that got messed up with whatever bug that is going on here). Think I’m going to switch to my guardian or necro as my main now, while using memser in off hours for the nodes and whatnot until this is fixed (if it ever will be).

As for a response from anet, I doubt that will happen. They seem to be ignoring this issue by sending us in a looped response with no posts on the forum itself, even with us trying a bunch of different things out and trying to test what is the cause of it. I wouldn’t even mind trying even more things out to try to narrow it down farther if they actually cared whats going on lol, but for now I think I’m un-maining my Mesmer for now :/

Plus with season 2 around the corner, I imagine a bunch more bugs will pop up with the release of that and this might just get buried down in the pile of “fixed later”.

kitten, missed the reset by 4 minutes, guess i cant play GW2 for yet another 24 hours q.q. Atleast now i can confirm i have to actively be logged in on my theif at the 00:00:00 reset time otherwise nothing will happen.

Edit: Yeah as your edit suggests, the only time i have got a reset to happen so far is to be logged into another character during the reset. Which sucks, i cant always stay up until 1am….

Decided to do a few more test and went on my mesmser into EotM at reset and my dailies didn’t reset. This leads me to believe that it isn’t megaserver related any Mesmer related( or at the very least Mesmer was the character that got messed up somehow).

Going to log onto an alt and wait at reset tomorrow in EotM and than not touch my Mesmer for an entire day and log out before reset and log into an alt after it resets to see if that works.

If that works than I would say log into an alt in wvw at reset when you get a chance and not touch your Mesmer until the issue is fixed (if it ever will be). Really sucks that my Mesmer is FUBAR, tons of work put into him :/.

Edit: Well I swear it was soul bound at some point, but my ascended accessories, rings an back item was account bound and I was able to move it off my Mesmer, so at the very least we can move the items…

For the record, no, it can’t. You could set your date and time to 8 hours and 3 minutes off from your actual clock in 2025 and the game won’t care. The server controls resets, and it will be at the same universal time of day no matter what your clock says.

It can affect what shows up as the Daily or Monthly though, and thus when striving to fulfill that Daily or Monthly (which would be incorrect) show no progress.

It is true that your computer’s clock would not affect the time of reset, though.

It appears this may have fixed itself for me.

I cant confirm fully but i avoided my mesmer completly for 48 hours, I then decided to play on my mesmer today (yesterday) and everything has reset fine. So fingers crossed…. simply avoiding playing may have fixed this for me.

I did that, but when I did my dailies on my mesmer, they still wouldn’t reset the next day.

We really need an Anet response on this, because Monthlies get reset tomorrow, and it’s going to be pretty annoying if they stay completed.

I had at least some strange results with guesting when i played around with the time and date at April 1st to get rid of the annoying bubbleheads.

Well, logged in today on my thief, and I’m 5/5 on dailies and 3/4 on my monthlies. This is just stupid.

I have logged in today fine, everything has reset, even the monthly ones. However i cant confirm its fixed for me because i have instead been avoiding my mesmer at all costs. Simple temporary solution would be just to pick another hero and pretend the others dont exist.

On the other hand my bug requests may have resulted in a dev silently fixing this issue. Therefore i will continue to monitor this thread and hopefuly spend a day or two just on my mesmer to see what happens.

Was just about to comment on this xD. Since I saw your post I figured I would try and see if my Mesmer was fixed and decided to play with it. I went offline for a bit and when I came back on and it was past reset and the dailies bugged again. This will be my last test until we get a developer to comment or the patch notes mention its fixed.

I will however help bump this thread as well.

For today my Dailies reset and monthlies did not (Guardian in Eotm at reset). Seems I’m screwed out of a monthly for July.

So Anet basically is just ignoring this? I can’t do any ascended crafting, I can’t farm any nodes that require a daily reset, I have tried just about everything, and I get no response from them. I’ve missed out on four laurels, and the game is unplayable but I don’t even have it as bad as others. Awesome.

The lack of ANet responses in this game bug section is shocking, you’d think they’d have people looking into here all the time.

Yeah some of us have had this for a month, 30 laurels, 360 AP, 30 ascended materials of all types, 450 ectos from world boss salvages. However you look at it we are missing out on alot from this bug. Quite frankly if i hadnt discovered that by simply not playing my Mesmer would prevent this, then i would probably no longer be playing. There are parts of this game i just wont play now such as sPVP and WvW because i have no interest in playing them without my mesmer, so this is still very much a problem for me.

Just makes me wonder how many people are suffering this in silence and simply quit. The sad part is that this bug had happened a couple of months ago and if anet belive they have fixed it then we not see a fix for a while.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, they sure are active in the living story bug responses but refuse to even acknowledge this. I don’t even mind waiting for a fix if they would respond that they are working one it.

As for the Mesmer thing I feel the same way. While I was playing my guardian it just wasn’t the same for me as playing a Mesmer. Other than some lore stuff with the living world updates, I don’t see my self playing much else of the game until this issue is fixed.

I logged on to my mesmer 3 days ago, did my dailies, and then for the next 2 resets my dailies started on 4/5. I’ll likely do this once a week to check the problem’s still there.

Yup the bug still exists.

All i do now is log into my warrior, kill Tequatl, kill three worms, log out. Lost alot of will to play when my main character is now pointless to play.

Would appreciate it if everyone else with this bug keeps things bumped, ill mostly be playing other stuff until this is fixed. I have waited a month, suffered with it for 5 weeks, no response, really dont see why i should have to wait any longer.

Same problem, daily achievements not reset, so no new rewards.
Have only one character – Necromancer. Didn’t play for couple months, start again about week ago and have this bug.
I already send in game ticket, no reaction or changes. But when i send ticket i didn’t find proper category, there is no one for achievements.

Just got linked to this thread. My dailies and monthly haven’t reset since early June. They reset once, but when I finished it (it showed I already had 4/5 done) I didn’t get the correct rewards. Basically, same problem, dailies and monthly not resetting…

Glad to know I’m not alone

Edit: Also, I sent in an email, I got told to send a bug report in game… I’ve sent like 50 of them… it’s so frustrating not being able to get the rewards… Also I don’t play Mesmer much, only leveled one for a bit, and it’s still not resetting on my account (haven’t touched Mesmer in about a week or two I’d say). Mesmer thing just a reply to what you were all discussing.
