Daily Reset Bugged
Ah seems its not Memser based than, just happened to be our Memsers that got affected since they were our mains when the issue came up. Also, my monthly is still bugged and I think I will need to be in the eotm on another character to reset it.
Also that post is for tickets that don’t get resolved and/or not responded to in 3 days. As we said the tickets were classified as “resolved” for submitting a bug report in game.
Dailies have been resetting if I’m on or not since I stopped playing the bugged character in question.
Another theory of mine.
So we all know that this bug happened about 3 months ago and was “fixed” and the issue had come about apparently due to the mega server update.
Well i quit shortly before the mega server update, i then returned to the game after the apparent bug fix. Upon returning i then played alot of Pavilion (mega server heavy) and since then my account has mostly been unplayable.
So what im trying to say here is, everyone who currently has the bug right now, were you playing at the time of the previous fix? Had you quit before the mega server update? Maybe since we wernt playing at the time of the fix it never got applied to us?
Long shot but iv noticed that a few of you have claimed that you only got this bug after returning to the game after a small break.

I was playing around that time, hadn’t touched my Mesmer for quite a while though. But I hadn’t touched my Engineer either, and he doesn’t cause any reset issues. I’m at a loss for what causes it, it wouldn’t be as bad if we could at least get an acknowledgement of the problem from ANet- then we’d know it’s on their radar.
I was just linked here as well. Last time I finished my daily was on my mesmer, which was about 3 or 4 days ago. I discovered the issue last night and watch the timer turn over but the achievements remained.
So, tonight I was playing my guardian when the timer rolled over and my daily did reset. Is this really tied to the mesmer?
It’s definitely not tied to mesmer. I play mostly on my ranger and I’ve had this problem since early June as well.
:/ I don’t want to sound entitled, but I think this is a pretty major issue and even though it’s only affecting a smallish subset of players (presumably), there has been enough time that this should at least be acknowledged as being worked on.

I’m sorry you’re still experiencing this issue, Blud. What did Support say when you contacted them?
Logged in just so I could tell you about my experience with this bug.
I returned to GW2 10 days ago, 7 of those days I spent leveling an alt, a Thief. During that time I saw no issues with dailies, it worked as intended.
The last 3 days I returned to my main, a Mesmer, and the bug started to happen.
The first time I thought it was just bad luck, but the next day it repeated.
Yesterday I tried logging out before the reset (about 1 hour before), but it didn’t do the trick.
Today I logged to my main (Mesmer) just so I could sell something on the TP then logged to another character (Elementalist).
Today my dailies reset without any issue while I was still in-game.
Now, I’m not saying it is the Mesmer class that is bugged, but perhaps a certain combination of traits, equips, skills, etc.?
I’ll try tomorrow with a different class.
For me, many times some dailies do NOT count all the time, at random.
Like Daily Revive. I can resurrect someone, get XP, but number of revives stays the same.

This can happen when your computer clock date/time is out of sync with the server time. Check to make sure your computer clock’s date and time is accurate.

There’s a short cooldown on revives of the same NPC/player for achievement credit. I used to always get my daily reviver at Lake Feritas in Plains of Ashford where the rock drakes kill the NPC fishermen, and I discovered that trying to revive the same one over and over never works, but making a loop between all of them does, because it allows sufficient time to pass between each revival.
^This is true. There must be something like a minute between revives for the same NPC or player being revived to count.
My bad, I was assuming the poster was saying revive never counted on the day it was active.

That’s awesome! It was my fault when I last submitted a support ticket for not sending the in-game report they requested for over a week (work took up all my time) so the ticket was closed.
I’m going to wait to see if there’s any news before I submit another ticket. I want to stress that the GW2 support team does good work though.

I hope this is addressed soon. I don’t even want to play the game anymore because all of the things I like to do – fractals, dungeons, world bosses, teq, triple trouble – won’t give me a reward.

I too have been having problems with the daily not always resetting. At the moment it appears to have finally reset after about three days. However, my monthly is not reset. It’s says it’s completed and it’s obviously not, only being the second day into the new month.

I know to some this may not be a big deal, but i got so fed up of not getting rewards after running 2-3 hours long daily boss sessions, i just quit the game. I am still watching this thread in the hopes that this bug is fixed so that i may return.
Just got this tonight. No world boss bonuses or ascended crafting possible. also daily started with 4 of them done.
Just to add a point (I’m not having this issue) on how I WOULD handle it.
- I would submit ONE ticket when it started.
- I would decline the suggestion to handle this via in-game reports but would agree to sumbit in-game reports when my Dailies reset strangely (or not at all). Basically, I would put in the ticket that I don’t want the ticket closed as I NEED feeback on this issue and an in-game report will not provide that.
- EVERY time I saw an unsual aspect of RESET, I would submit an in-game report. I know this is time consuming, but if they get a FLOOD of data, maybe they will either work harder on fixing, get enough data to figure it out or at least, not forget about it.
- Would send requests for any status on this getting fixed via the ticket EVERY week.
- Ping the 3 days and no response thread (in Accounts forum) with my ticket # if in fact, nobody responses to my requests in 3 days….

Same here. I’m starting to feel too annoyed to ever come back.
My dailies reset tonight and I’m able to get bonus chests at world bosses and craft the time gated ascended items. Hopefully it’ll stay fixed for me.
This bug is REALLY starting to kitten me off. I’ve been hit with it two days in a row now. That’s two days of nodes, world boss chests, laurels, ascended mat crafting, and plant food this freaking thing has cost me. The plant food is a real kick to the crotch, as that’s costing me close to 10 gold per day selling something for which demand is quickly diminishing. 20 gold for a casual player like myself is huge.
I had this for a while a couple weeks back, it totally killed the game for me…one day I logged in and it was miraculously fixed, so I didn’t pay it much mind. Then it came back again…then it got fixed…and now it’s back, right before I could craft the last of the time gated components for the new back piece. It really stinks not being able to do dailies, get rewards, or a multitude of other stuff, but man, the timing for this one was a real kick in the knees. Here’s hoping a real fix for it is found soon.

Just got hit by the bug again (third time in the last ten days). As you may or may not know, the next stage in the vine back piece was just released. So demand for the once/day/account plant food is at an all time high. Not being able to craft it cost me 16 gold. That’s another 16 gold on top of 20 it’s already cost me (not to mention the laurels, daily boss chests, rich ore veins, etc). Losing large sums of gold to a bug that’s at least a month old is kittening me off to the point that I’m considering taking my business elsewhere.
And I got hit again at tonight’s reset. That’s another 12 gold in plant food sells lost. That’s 48 gold in plant food sells I’ve lost in the last ten days thanks to this bug. I’m through with this game until the powers-that-be figure out how to fix this bug that’s leaving an unfortunate few of us at such a massive economic disadvantage.
The sad part is not the bug itself, every computer program is bound to have a bug eventually, the problem is the attention the gw2 team is giving to this particular bug: no comment in this thread, canned responses in the tickets openned, more than a month old problem and not a word about it.
If they know the problem, they could at least say what trigger the bug so we could avoid it, if they don’t know they should be a little more interested, maybe working with the one’s affected to discover what is happening.
It’s like they are saying this isn’t as important as other things and as we are a few affect by it, we are the bad luck ones…
The game is good, but how do you play a mmorpg without the reward part?
Hit again last night. Total losses up to 60 gold from plant food sales alone. Support has given me nothing but stock “we’re looking into it” replies, which roughly translates to “sucks to be you”.

Second day in a row. That’s 70 gold and counting in lost plant food profits. And I can’t help but feel there’s no one actually looking into this bug. With the upcoming Features Pack and the second half of Season 2 around the corner, how many guys do we honestly feel they have working on a bug that affects so few people (even if it is a devastating bug to those unfortunate enough to experience it).
Has anyone updated their CS tickets and/or placed the number in the Sticky for Review lately?
I haven’t seen anything on it recently. That would be the best way to keep abreast of what’s happening with the issue.

Hit again. 76 gold and counting in lost plant food sells. 6 laurels and counting. 42 or so achievement points and counting. Countless orichalcum veins and ancient saplings lost. Countless world boss chests lost. And all the while, this thread goes ignored and my Support tickets are answered with copy and paste (literally) replies.
At this point I’m half tempted to just request a refund. Sure, my account will be closed and I’ll lose everything I’ve done in this game. But since my ability to progress has been so severely impeded by this bug – a bug I suspect isn’t being looked at with any real sense of urgency – the desire for me to log in is already plummeting by the day. I’ll give it a few more days to see if ArenaNet can at least be bothered to acknowledge this thread’s existence, but I feel this bug is going to be the end of my time in Tyria.
Refunds are only granted to those with Accounts that have been active less than 30 days. It, probably, would not behoove you to request a refund.
Maybe all those affected by this ‘bug’ have something in common. If you could find that commonality, it might help the Devs rectify the issue. It could not hurt.
Hit yet again last night. Total losses from plant food sales alone now exceed 80 gold. I don’t think there’s a person playing the game who would consider 80 gold a trivial amount.

Two problems with this. One, there doesn’t seem to be a high volume of players affected. And two, which ties into one, if there aren’t a bunch of players being affected then the chances the staff is approaching this bug with any sense of urgency is slim.

I would think anything that could help them address the issue would be in your favor, but I’m sure you should do whatever you feel is best.

This is the exact problem i’m encountering.
Ranger main. I logged out at the reset time, booted the game back up and went into character selection. Said that my dailies had been reset, logged back into my ranger and my dailies were complete.
Had this problem for the last 5 days and it’s really costing me character progression. Hope Anet updates us with ANY news they’ve got on this, it’s completely ruining my experience.
Another day, another six gold, three T6 mats, etc., down the drain. Reinstalling the game didn’t did nothing. The problem is on ArenaNet’s end, and they seem either unwilling or incapable of doing anything about it.
So i’ve made a new character and everything SPECIFICALLY on my new character only seems to be fine. I won’t risk logging onto my ranger again until we get an update from Anet. This sucks.

I have a feeling you won’t be logging onto your ranger for a very, very long time. This bug has been around for four months, and they haven’t even bothered to give us a progress report. If after four months they haven’t said one peep on the subject, I can only surmise from that that it’s not being looked into or worked on with any sense of urgency. But that’s okay in their books, I guess. Whatever business they lose from those unfortunately few of us to be crushed by this bug they’ll more than make up by slapping a katana or a ninja outfit in the cash shop.

The response is always the same: They are aware of the problem and are working on it.
Whats the point in asking for an update if it’s always the same? (for at least a month)
As I understand it, Darkace statement isn’t actually wrong either, as your post is not a public response from the devs and again they didn’t give a PROGRESS report.
They could at least tell us what causes the problem so we could avoid it. I’m rotating my chars daily to try and find if it’s one of them that’s causing the problem. Not exactly MY job…
Hello, posting here to concur to the utter annoyance of this bug. Yet as I read other reports I consider myself lucky as the resets only fail from time to time for me so far. This is probably due to the fact that I have many (really many) characters and rarely log in on the same one everyday.
I will add that I have been playing GW2 extensively since release (no pause) and that the character causing this is most probably my ranger main or the warrior I played much during the Queen’s stuff mk 2.
Looking at Araleg posts, I will track which of my char(s) cause(s) the bug and follow her/his suggestion.
In my case, I have had 5-8 failed daily resets over the last months and 2 failed guild mission resets (even more annoying) over the past two months.
It should be noticed, if that may help to track the issue, that in my case failed daily resets are only partial, i.e.:
- they always affect crafting cooldowns (quite annoying since Mawdrey was introduced)
- sometimes they also affect affect daily achievements
- every other time they affect dungeon cooldowns (the worst in my opinion).
- I do not farm nodes enough to tell if they are affected in my case
- I do not farm world bosses enough to tell if they are affected in my case
What we can do:
As a developper myself, I know that some issues are very to track down. I don’t know if Anet is working on that issue but I think we may be able to help them a bit more by providing as much data as possible. I haven’t seen anyone yet in this post naming the character(s) responsible of causing this bug.
I will track down which of my character(s) is/are affected. I suggest we all do the same, for those who don’t know yet precisely which character(s) causes the bug.
We should then all:
- name the characters here in this thread
- send a customer support request titled “daily/weekly/montly resets bugged” detailing the issue (including which aspect of resets are affected in your case) and naming the characters causing it
- send an ingame report including the same title and information. I did not find any section matching this issue therefore I suggest we all use the “User Interface” => “Hero Window” category for consistency. If somehow has a better idea, feel free to correct me. Idealy, some Anet staff would tell us which category to use.
Hopefully, this will provide them with enough data understand the issue and correct it.

Since my last post, 2 bugged resets, 1 ok reset. The ok reset and one of the bugged resets happened while connecting for the 1st with a same character.
That bug is so crippling. My removing any appeal of many social activities (guild missions, dungeons, world bosses), it quickly drives to getting marginalized… in a game supposed to promote this aspect.
So Anet, how bout fixing this. Haven’t had my dailies reset in like 4 months at least.
No daily reset again today. With one try a day, finding what exactly triggers the bug is a lengthy task.

its been 4 days for me my daily and now monthly as its a new month has not reset i’ve sent in bug reports with screens and now i’m not even getting chests from boss kills in AC exp, it shows the chest on the minimap but theres no chest there to press f to i really need laurels i hope they fix it soon
My wife’s acct. is doing the same thing and has been for about 2 weeks now. It is not just the daily but her monthly achievements did not reset either. We have made and sent a report to Anet and they have told us they are looking into what is causing this issue. It seems like they could just do a manual reset for the ones that are having this issue. Anywho, we are losing achievement, skill points and laurels while we wait. Hope they fix this problem soon.
