Daily achievement points problem
There is a combined AP cap on daily/monthly achievements of 15k AP. It’s likely you’ve hit that cap. The individual holiday dailies don’t contribute to that cap, so you still got points for them.

It’s incredible to think people still don’t know about this cap. It’s well documented. Plus every achievement has a cap, dailies should be no different.

it is not documented in the game at all, which is why people don’t know about it

There’s a lot of undocumented things in-game like many mmos, which is why there are so many 3rd party websites for each to document them. I wouldn’t want to imagine the size should all of this information be included in game.
Many who play mmos usually use these other websites to aid their gameplay, as they should. This is no different. They kind of go hand in hand.

and there is the /wiki command to use in the chat box that gives you access to a large knowledge base. ‘/wiki daily’ clearly explains it in the 1st few sentences.
“There is a cap of 15,000 Points for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out. "
I’ve had the cap for months, but with the Halloween dailies I was still getting the 1 AP for doing each one until last night. I did 3 of the Halloween dailies and didn’t get any points for them. I did get the points from Tuesday to Thursday.

You wrote, “it’s incredible to think that people still don’t know about this cap.” I explained why it’s not incredible at all to imagine it — human nature often takes the path of least resistance, so if it’s not documented in the game, then there’s literally no reason for people to be aware of it.
Some people just play the game for fun. They don’t read the patch notes, they don’t read Reddit or the forums, they might even turn off /map because of spoilers and the occasional troll.
It’s not that hard to have earned 15k from dailies in those circumstances. And those folks will hit the cap just the same as those of us posting about it in the forums.
How would they have learned of the cap? The game doesn’t say we’ve reached a cap; it just stops accumulating, which is why there are so many /bug reports about it.
Of course MMOs are too vast to document everything they offer. In fact, it’s awesome that ANet continues to put stuff in the game that they don’t document, that we have to discover on our own (or with the help of other fans). That’s certainly a lot of the fun many of us find here. The wiki, Dulfy.com, and Wooden Potatoes, among other sites are the best places to cover such material.
In contrast, capping the AP reward from dailies is different. It’s an arbitrary limit that ANet added years after introducing the mechanic. It’s something that people have no reason to expect and no reason to understand, unless they tab out of the game and launch some other program.
Moreover, the lack of documentation serves ANet poorly in this case. It gives the appearance of a bug when it’s a deliberate choice by ANet, for reasons that they care enough about to have documented in one of their now-archived blogs.
In short, it’s predictable — not incredible — that people won’t know about the cap.
(I’m not, by the way, arguing in favor or in opposition to the cap. I am saying that if there’s a cap, the game ought to (a) warn people it’s about to happen and (b) tell them when they’ve hit it.)
I am starting to think people are trolling with these kind of reports in hopes for Anet to uncap it again as the easiest solution.
Thanks for all the comments. It was the 15,000 point daily/monthly cap. I had totally forgotten about it.
