What ever happened to this staff? I was looking for it to buy & typed the name ‘Delusion’ in the MP Search bar & nada, I don’t remember reading where this staff would be taken away.

I got in in the Mystic Toilet today, so it’s still in the game.
It came account bound and with stats to select so I guess so it’s no longer on the TP because it had MF%

i hope they change its attributes and make it available again; the jeweled staff is my favorite

Oh wow, really? that sure is a bummer. I hope they re-add it- I’d hate to think I missed my chance on this staff :c

I am furious about this, because I had this staff and since the patch where it became account bound, mine has disappeared from my character. I think I may have transmuted it at some point. I cannot remember, but using the new transmute splitter item does not return the staff to me either. :

I just got it yesterday from a WvW kill. Mine was account bound and would have to chose the stats. I’m kinda mad, since I finally got an exo in a long time, and its not even one I can sell… Not sure whether to salvage it in hopes of dark matter or wait and see if this is a bug and will be able to sell it later.

Went looking for this staff today and could not find it.

I hope the skin is re-added to the MP

A lot of the named former magic find stat items aren’t showing up on searches at the trading post. Someone posted the names of a couple of scepters that were not showing up and they got fixed and now show up. I bet this still exists and just is bugged.

To Devs,
The issue being reported is that, unlike other former Magic Find-statted items, new drops of Delusion have not also been updated to have a predefined set of stats and be “Soulbound on Use” and tradeable. This results in this specific weapon skin to no longer be obtainable via the Black Lion Trading Post.

Here is a comparison example of the issue:

Super Hyperbeam Alpha

• Previously had the Magic Find attribute
• Previous MF-statted versions were returned from the TP
  and made “Account Bound” with selectable stats
• New drops of the item have “Assassin’s Stats”
• New drops are “Soulbound on Use” and tradeable
• Acquirable via:
  • Mystic Forge
  • Black Lion Trading Post

Delusion

• Previously had the Magic Find attribute
• Previous MF-statted versions were returned from the TP
  and made “Account Bound” with selectable stats
• New drops of the item have not been updated and still have ‘No Stats’ and must be selected
• New drops of the item are still the “Account Bound” versions and are not tradeable
• Acquirable via:
  • Mystic Forge
  • Boss chests in Fractals of the Mists
  • Various meta event chests
  • Aetherpath (Twilight Arbor)

Bump and I can confirm this is still like this. Got it from Mystic Forge just a few minutes ago and a quick search brought me here. Not complaining but sure thought it was odd.

I’m pretty sure it’s called the Jeweled staff. I know there’s a karam merchant that sells the water trident of that same exact skin and it’s called Jeweled trident. It’s the karma merchant in Desla Platu by a heart that’s near water.(forgot the exact details. I think it was Black Water something.)
As for staff, not sure, but again, pretty sure there’s one of the same skin called Jeweled staff.

That is a Trident not a staff.

It drops as accountbound so you can’t sell it on the TP.

It’s more nuanced that the above suggests.

1. MF-stat items that already existed in the game became account-bound.
2. Replacement items were created with the same name, different stats, and a new id number. These were not account bound.

So the Delusion I owned before the patch became Account Bound, as expected. Unfortunately, ANet apparently didn’t replace that item (with the original ID) with another (using a new ID), which means even a recently dropped Delusion can’t be sold.

Yeah, there are a few items that have fallen through the cracks like this one. :/ Hopefully ANet will get around to fixing it soon.

In the meantime, as Aerin mentioned, you can unlock the Delusion skin on a trident by purchasing it from Vepar Darkheart in Diessa Plateau. It’s not a full solution, but you can at least have the skin underwater.

I thought I’d let y’all know that I just got the exotic staff “delusion” as a world drop in the Silverwastes. It also has selectable stats.

Thing is more difficult to obtain than a precursor.

Just dropped in the daily chest of exotic materials in the necro one for me.

We know, that’s why everyone is asking about the drop rate. It’s a real shame.
