I did two asura personal story chapters that gave the achievements “Something Lost, Something Gained” and “Legacy Code”, but I didn’t get the mastery points for those achievements.

Have you already completed those chapters with a different race?

The UI is a bit misleading on this, but for chapters 1-3, you only get mastery points for the first race you complete the chapter with, and likewise with chapter 4 and the orders.

Aren’t those chapters for asuras only? And as I got the achievements as an asura doing them, shouldn’t that show that I hadn’t done them before?

Isn’t it the achievement that gives the mastery point? I got the achievement for both chapters, but no mastery points.

There are 5 separate achievements for each chapter, 1 for each race, but you’ll only get the mastery point from the first of those you complete.

So for example, for chapter 1, you’ll only get 1 mastery point total from the following 5 achievements:

Crime and Punishment (human)
For the Legion! (charr)
Waking from the Nightmare (sylvari)
Rising to the Challenge (norn)
Graduation Day (asura)

Oh, ok. So when the achievement shows that it gives a mastery point, it is kind of a visual bug.

It’s sad that I spent time and money to make a lv30 asura just for those points…
