Righto, so my girlfriend and I were playing Team PvP with my guild. She disconnected and her whole computer crashed and her computer restarted. Coming back into the game, she found she had a dishonorable condition for a 2 day 13 hour ban from Team PvP. THIS IS WRONG.

She is being wrongfully PUNISHED for what has happened with her computer. This is the 3rd time it has crashed since the April 15 update, and has never crashed previously. This has caused her to have a second dishonorable condition in a week. When will ArenaNet fix this blatant bug and when will they realise that people DO CRASH at UNEXPECTED TIMES?

What about the other 9 people that were doing PvP? They were punished by her wonky computer crashing. I’ve had the occasional crash while in PvP and i’ve never once been given the dishonorable condition. If someone is frequently crashing they probably shouldn’t be doing PvP.

The possibility that her system may not be at fault shouldn’t be ruled out so easily, and especially not so condescendingly.

If you read through the Dev Posts, they advise not playing in PvP if you are having crash or disconnect issues.

Perhaps, your girlfriend can contact Tech Support and get assistance with the problem.

Then she obviously isn’t getting what she has paid for, by being pretty much locked out of a third of the game.

How does it matter why she is disconnecting ?

As I see it, all that matters is that she has problems staying in the match.

Yes, that is a problem. But it is a problem with whatever is causing the crash. Not in how the dishonorable system reacts to the crash.

You just answered your own question there. Her crashes are the very reason she has problems staying in the match, and those crashes could either be an issue on her end, which may be rectifiable, or a recent update has introduced some instability in the client, which will be something only ANet’s developers can look into. One of these is a potential bug.

You don’t get dishonorable after leaving from just one match so your girlfriend was PUNISHED for a reason. Plus, if you have computer issues to the point where you’re frequently crashing you are punishing yourself lol… not to mention the other people in the game.

Think about it this way. Someone decides they don’t want to play with these people, so they disconnect their internet (which is the same way GW2 servers would see a computer crash) to get around the ‘punishment’ for choosing to leave a match.

As I understand it, you would not have this occur if you crashed or otherwise left a PvP match just 1 time in the span of a couple days. I believe it takes 3 times in a 3 day period, but I am not positive how it is calculated, as I remember an Arenanet post stating if you left a match like a day after the dishonorable ends, you’d be slapped with another dishonorable.

Hey, just have to point out that whatever Anet does to your game, they won’t take the blame. You know why?

As stated on https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/25390756-Minimum-System-Requirements, “Note: Due to potential changes, system requirements may change over time and you may be required to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to continue to play the game.”

If it’s a bad update, or the update requires more resources, then get a better computer. It can’t be that of a bad update, I haven’t disconnected during tPvP since the update so that can be ruled out. Your internet is bad/your specs are out of date. So you gotta fix up your end. It’s punishment for not upgrading your computer/fixing your net if the update requires it.

If you ignore what the dev’s said about not playing under poor internet conditions or crash issues, then you should go rectify the issue. Repair the client, play PvP on more stabler internet, get a better computer -> ??? -> Profit!

P.S.: You can get disconnected from the server without knowing that you did, sometimes when popup saying they lost connection with the game server, but you can still continue, DOES count as a disconnection too, so that was probably how she gained more Dishonourable infractions.

From a technical point of view it is unlikely for the game itself to cause your entire PC to reboot, rather the hardware in her computer may be insufficient to run the game or she is having driver problems (9 times out of 10 it is the latter).

Also show some respect when you post on forums, I’d happily ignore ALL CAPS FLAME if I saw it.
